My sweet little grandbaby will be one year old on April 18th. My daughter saw a dress similar to this and asked me to make her one. I've never had a smocking class, and only know what I know from the help of a friend. I've smocked a few baby things, but nothing fancy for sure.
I'm glad to be finished with it and not have to hurry at the last minute. It sure helped being on spring break this week.
I covered the buttons going down the back to match the dots on the dress. The pattern is Chery Williams Baby Bishop, and I cut out some of the fullness.

Wow - this is an amazing dress! Did you hand smock or smock on your machine? I've never done either, but I know both are possible, so was just curious. She's going to be cute as pie!!!!!!

Very Beautiful and perfect for a 1st Birthday. Awesome work and I'm sure this was not easy. It wouldn't be easy for me!!! Thank you for sharing.

You did a great job! Awesome on the smocking. I want to learn Heirloom so badly. The dress is really cute and a perfect little party dress.
