View Full Version : {HAPPY News Contest}

This news isn't really embroidery related, but the prize is so, I'll post it here.

We have happy news in our home. I'm pregnant! We are so excited to welcome a new little one to our family this September. In case you don't know, we have three boys (ages, 7, 5, and 19 mo.) already. We had an ultrasound today and found out the gender of the baby. The baby looks happy and healthy which is SO good to know.

Now for the fun part. We're going to start a little contest in honor of the little baby. Guess the sex and you'll be entered to win any baby design of your choice from us. All you have to do is post your guess under this thread. I'll then draw a random name from the correct answers. On Friday, the 11th (around 9pm PST), I'll announce the results along with a winner. Be sure to check back to see if you won and of course, if it's a girl or boy!!!

If you want to make me really excited about your answer, leave a suggestion for a name...we need them!!!

PS...I added a family picture from a couple months ago so you can get a feel for our family. Don't laugh too hard at David and I. :)

ohhhhhhhh- congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for your whole family. My DD is due in the middle of Oct. (our 1st grand), so I know you must be thrilled. My guess is BOY. What are your other childrens names?

Boy name Aiden
Girl name-Shelby

OMG!!! I'm so excited for you! Why does it feel as if this is happening to a member of my family? How odd.

My guess is going to be a girl, even though I'm quite partial to boys having 2 of my own. We could have had 15 children (and would have without medical intervention!) and all 15 would have been boys, but I'm counting on you getting to embroider some pink this time!

What are your boys' names again? I'm trying to determine if there's a pattern in their names. My FIL has 3 brothers and one sister. The boys' names are Jerry, Larry, Gary,...and Wayne. Guess who the poor black sheep is in that family!

Congratulations Jami & David!

I have four children also, and I wouldn't trade my life with them for anything!

I'm betting it's going to be a beautiful GIRL. :girl:

You're going to have to let all of us know what your boys' names are so we can come up with some good suggestions.

Thanks for all the well wishes...you all are just so sweet.

My boys names are Logan, Cameron and Evan. We didn't make them all end in N on purpose, just kind of worked out that way.

Can't wait to hear your suggestions.

Hi my guess is it's a girl.........but I can tell from your messages that whatever it is it will be loved and spoiled rotten by three big brothers.
I hope all goes well, and that regardless of whether it's a girl or boy that it grows up happy healthy and strong......and learns how to use an embroidery machine!
Congratulations

Since your boys are so absolutely darling in your photo, I think another boy would be super!!! You sure have done a great job having handsome boys. As for the name, how about Brien. (My son is Brian.) Maybe with a little different spelling, it would help balance the more common last name. I am Number 7 in a family of 8. We all have J's in our name -- cute when you're 4, but when you're 44, it's a little strange. My dad is Junior and my brothers are John, Joe and Jim. :-) All the girls, including my late mother, have middle names that begin with J. Ugh. Good luck and hope all continues to go well with your pregnancy.

We all have J's in our name -- cute when you're 4, but when you're 44, it's a little strange. See, now I understand this because every single male in my Mom's family, brother, father, uncles, grandfathers, and as far back as they can remember all had WWB for their initials.

Congratulations Jamie and David!! How exciting!!! (Now, just make sure those 4x4 Dolly Mama's are done before you go into labor!

Hmmmmm.... I think I'll say girl (and then Mom, you can say boy, and one of us could be in the running then! ;) )!

One of my favorite names that I'd briefly considered for Corinne (which is a family name) was Kaileen (Kay-LEEN). I had a wonderful student by that name and fell in love with the name. Also really liked Cecily (again, a former student- but also a musical name).

For boys... Corinne would've been Nathan, but I was never 100% in love with it- it just never felt 100% right. (Guess I'm glad she was a she! :girl:) Also love Aaron. Would have run with Evan in a heartbeat if DH's name wasn't Kevin.

As a teacher, I come across many names that we won't even mention here. A few that I really like are: Ava, Claire or Ella for a girl and Connor for a boy. I currently teach a Hispanic child named Citlaly which I thought was really odd until I found out it means star (and she definitely is one!)

YEAH!! Congratulations!! We have five (2 boys and then 3 girls ages 11 ,8,6,4,3) and we have so much fun with them. We could have had more, but ran out of room in the minivan. :) When we came home from the hospital with our youngest our oldest was still in a booster so we have 5 carseats!! All we could do was laugh!

I am guessing a GIRL!! Everyone needs one girl to dress and do her hair.

Either way congratulations and may everything go well for you these next few months.

YEAH!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to guess a girl, just because I think every house needs some estrogen! ;) If I have a girl one day (which I probably never will judging from the stats on my husband's side), I want to name her Katherine Claire and call her Kit. My sister is Claire Elizabeth, which I also love. My doggies names are Sophie and Bella (Isabella) because my husband is Italian, and I would love those names just as much if they were people. ;) As far as boys go, I love the classics - Christopher, Thomas, Benjamin, etc... I hope you have an easy pregnancy - make all of those boys wait on you until September!!! ;) Congrats again!

Happy news is right!!! So happy to hear not only of your pregnancy, but that everything is going well and both you and the baby are healthy. You have such a handsome family that I'm going to imagine another little boy in the picture (although I know that a baby of either gender will be much loved by all of you!) Thanks for sharing your wonderful news with all of us aunties and uncles on the board :)

Even though I think it's a girl, I'm kind of partial to the name Grayson if it's a boy. My youngest is a Grayson and I still love the name (even though some days I feel like I say it 1000 times).

For a girl, I love the names Sarah and Claire.

Oh, this is going to be a very exciting topic of conversation around here! Congratulations! I am going to guess a girl and I am liking the name "Emma Claire". That is the name of a little girl in Abby's class at school and I think it sounds really feminine. With three boys in the house, she will definitely need a really feminine name! I name my little girl, Abigail Rose, after great grandmothers. Have you already looked at the women in your family for inspiration?

Okay I will say a girl even if they are more difficult to raise. The thing is I want to throw out another boys name, Mason Ryan, Always thought if I ever named a boy that would be in the running, I have two boys but didn't have a hand in naming them.
Now another little girls' name would be Bianca Renea.
Yes, I always like the different. My daughter has my name because it is unique. Anyway, lots of smiles and hugs to you both, we are all so happy for you!!!

My guess is also for a GIRL(some of my patients have recently had some sweet additions and i liked Lila , Ava, Natalie) We were never good at boys names...when we were expecting our 2nd daughter(we didn't find out the sex) we were asking the nurses during my labor if they could throw out any suggestions because we just couldn't come up with one(or one that we both agreed on) My best friends just had baby boys..Lawson and Owen!(oh, those 2 boy names end in "N" too!)

I love the simplicity, too. I've been eyeing the summertime designs - I grew up on the the coast of Georgia and some of those beachy designs would be so cute on beach bags, coverups, or towels... but those aren't baby themed, so I'll save those for my wish list for now. ;)

Congratulations! A girl, and only one, lol. Having only had twins, (a boy and a girl), I envy those who go through babyhood with only one set of bottles, carseats, diapers, midnight feedings, etc. I'm so excited for you.

OK, here's my name suggestion: how about "Erin". My twins are named Emily and Aaron, and we love the names. Aaron got lots of buzz in previous threads, and I think that the "girl" version is just so cute, but will be good as she grows up.

Whatever your family chooses to name her, may she grow up to be happy and healthy. Congratulations, again!
