What's everyone doing today? Taxes or embroidering? Hopefully enjoying the later! I'm just finishing up the new 4x4 Dolly Mama's. I'm hoping to have them in David's hands to upload to the site within the next couple days. They're awesome and sure beat doing taxes!!!
Of course, I've also been sneaking in some time surfing the net for cute girly things. I've been looking for crib bedding, christening gowns, and ideas for a quilt. I definitely want to make her a quilt, but am debating on the christening gown. The hard part with a girl is there's so many dang cute choices it makes it so tough to choose. Does anyone have a sweet quilt pattern they could recommend?

I am at work right now, unfortunately. I wish I was embroidering! I did stitch my first Dolly Mama last night - Shop and Repeat - and I just loved it! It turned out so cute. Anyone have any tips for neatly cutting the jump stitches between all those polka dots? It took me forever. I don't do any quilting, so I'm not sure of a pattern. And Jami, you haven't shared yet with us the baby names that you said were special to you guys...please share!

I will post pictures as soon as I get them. Prom is Sat. and Both Girls are going! Dutch costume will be inspected on Thurs.
You know... If you have those 4x4 DollyMamas done before Sat, I will have to take a brake from my work!!!!! Those things can't come quick enough Jami!!!!!
Yes My Hubby went to the post office today to mail our taxes.!!!!

I plan to do both!
I'm going to get at least one of my embroidery machines humming while I try to gather up all my bills so my hubby can finish our taxes.
I have a really cute idea in my head of something I want to do with the chiklets, so tonight might be the best night to get started on that.

I went to the mall and what a sight to see. I live on an island and every pond has a resident gator, this one happens to be the pond at our mall. My husband stopped the jeep so I could get a photo of this 7 foot guy. Looks like he lost part of his tail so he looks kinda strange. What sort of animals do you see at your malls besides the human kind?

I'm doing a whole lot of nuttin' today! NOTHING! I'm not using my brain and am going to do absolutely nothing. Yesterday was a VERY bad day that ended with me needing a 46 oz margarita at our local Mexican restaurant that just opened. I emailed Curt and TOLD him he was taking me out for supper. HA!
AND I enjoyed my drink too
Ignore the goofy face. :p

That was only the medium sized one. I was SOOOO tempted to get the bigger one. It was a very bad day with me stuck on the phone for over four hours.

Vicki, what a fun picture of you!! Sorry you had such a rough day, though.
I've been trying to work on an embroidered project to enter in the monthly contest but DH worked from home today so I had to pretend to do housework instead, LOL!

How funny Lisaa...I have been known to do the same thing around my house!;)
I can't wait to see the prom dresses from Dawn and the monthly contest entry from Lisaa, and I do hope Sew N Sane is going to share her project with the chicklets design???
We actually get back a little bit (and I do mean LITTLE!) so our taxes have been done for a while. However, no embroidering tonight...it's Biggest Loser finale and American Idol (although I'm debating striking AI since Michael Johns was voted off last week.)

Vicki,
That looks yummmmmy. After the week I've had, I might go out and have 2 of those, but since I'm a "lite weight" ( in the alcohol dept, not weight), I think I'll go have just one. A few of us a work were ready for our "good friend Margarita" by 8 AM. ahhhhhhhhh

I have to admit that was a little more than I drink usually. And about halfway through dinner I mixed up words in a sentence and hubby laughed at me. :p

I tivo-ed AI so I could watch the BL Finale - can you believe that a woman finally won!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????? I could just scream I'm so excited!!! I'll be watching AI tomorrow, but am kind of annoyed at the way the season is going, so it's not as exciting as BL.

We got our taxes done last month. My oldest daughter works for H&R Block during the tax season and she did ours for us for free. It's nice to have connections.:D Guess I forgot today was tax day. I didn't get much of anything done today. Had the day off from work, but hubby's on night work and was sleeping. So, had to try to be quiet. Spent most of the day reading. Tomorrow is dentist day :(
Windwillow - can't say that I've seen a gator at the mall, but I have seen my share of them around.
Jami - Did I miss something???? All this talk about little girl projects????

Yay! Our taxes are done and we are actually getting some money back.
I found some invoices for expenses I incurred on customer projects and between those and our extra property taxes we paid, we turned the $600 we owed into $600 we get back!

We ended up owing $47 this year. We don't have any kids to claim anymore and my dh didn't think to change his w-4 at work. Hopefully, now it's all taken care of and we can get back to getting those refunds.

Oh, my boys would be in heaven. If we had gators like that, they wouldn't fight me everytime I drag them to the mall.

Those little clips can be pesky, I know. I personally use some real sharp tweezers and little cuticle scissors than can be bought in the fingernail section of your favorite drugstore. be sure to get the kind that are real narrow at the tip and slightly curved upward. They work wonders.
As for special names, I saw the names Elizabeth, Katherine, Sarah, and Emma mentioned. Elizabeth is my middle name. Katherine and Sarah are my nieces names and even though I love the names, I would feel funny using them. Emma is awesome as that's my mom's middle name. But then again, I have a brand new niece named Emma. I personally like the name Elizabeth, but don't want to name her part of my name. We're debating if we will even do a middle name. My boys all have one, but not sure about her. I kind of want her last name to be her middle name when she gets married. Can anyone shed any light on personal experience about the pros and cons for female middle names?
I also saw Claire mentioned a bit. It's not a family name, but one that's been on my list for a while. I'm also leaning toward Avery...such a big decision.

Awww, sorry to hear about your bad day. At least you got something good out of it in the end. I don't drink, but a virgin version of that sure would be tasty right now. I'm thirsty.;)

OUCH! That is not a good thing to find out at tax time. Of course, it could have been MUCH worse for you. Thankfully there is that extra rebate this year for you guys.

HA! Yep, had a great dinner that night and a MUCH better day the next since I refused to do anything. :p

I use the pointed and bent tweezers. I bought a pack of different types from my Viking dealer although I could have gotten them at an office supply store or hardware store much cheaper. And I use my little curve squeeze scissors I posted pics of in another thread. Then to make it easy to catch the threads, I use a lint roller to help lift them off the fabric. It works great.

Thank Jami. I don't drink very often either although if you'd have seen us coming back from vacation two years ago and seeing the case of wine we bought, you'd think otherwise. LOL We've only had I think two of those bottles so far. One of them I REALLY need to get out because it's not really wine but a liquor that's a Chocolate Cherry. OMG it's SOOOOOOO good too. Hmmmm dinner tonight maybe? HA!:D

It's an after dinner type sweet drink, yes. It was SO good when we tasted it. The guy said it can even be thicked a bit and used as an ice cream topping. OOOOOOOOOOOOOH SOLD ME! I'LL TAKE TWO PLEASE! roflmao
