I am in search of some incredibly comfortable dress shoes for Quilt Market this weekend. Does anyone have a favorite brand/style they'd like to divulge? Color is optional, but comfortable and cute are must's!

Please share. ;)

I totally know what you mean. Comfort is crucial. I really like the Dansko brand. They come in casual and dressy. HTH. Let me know what you find.

I swear by Cole Haan (Nike Air technology). They are pricey (upwards of $150) but soooo worth it. They actually feel like you're wearing sneakers. They have both very dressy and casual. Available at Nordstrom's, etc.

Funny you should recommend those, because those were my first choice. However, didn't quite work out right. Here's why...living in Beaverton, OR Nike HQ are just down the road and I have a very dear friend whose DH works for Nike and they have an awesome employee store where everything is 50% MSRP. It's all the newest releases, but to get to shop there you either have to be a Nike employee or be lucky enough to know one who will share one of their limited friends pass with you. I scored a friend's pass last week and went on a little (okay, major) shopping spree there. They had a few different Cole Haan Nike Air shoes, but wouldn't you know they were out of my size. I tried really hard to fit my 7 1/2 size foot into the 6 1/2 size shoe, but decided that defeat the purpose of comfort shoes. I was sooo sad.

I ended up ordering some Sofft's online and love them.

Thanks for the input, ladies!!! I love shoes (almost as much as embroidery deigns, ALMOST). :)

Jami, when you say quilt market, are you talking about the one in Houston? We were there...always fun to go to.

Yes, that's the one. Did you go to Festival as well? We just did Market this year. We'll be at Festival next year.

Shoes just aren't cute anymore by the time they're big enough to fit me. I wear a 10 or 11, depends. Therefore, I would prefer to just be barefoot. LOL. Or, in those wonderful new fuzzy cuddly socks!! I am a sucker for those.

The only quilt show I have been to is the Augusta Maine quilt show, and that is so great I can only imagine what a big national show would be like.

OMG, I'd go nuts. I just LOVE quilts!

I too have larger feet - 10's, and would prefer to go barefoot. Unfortunately the snow here prevents me from doing so.

Well, I prefer barefoot, too. but they do frown upon that at church:D I'm in the choir and am on my feet quite a bit. I'll also be on my feet when I start my job. Have to have comfy shoes for that.;)

I found a nice pair of comfortable sketchers casual dress shoes at kohls. They felt like sneakers, unfortunately they were out of the more neutral color I wanted. The price was right at $40 though. I totally know what you mean when they are on sale the comfortable ones are usually gone quick!

I would love to go to a quilt show, if only I had the time and the extra $$$ I know I would spend! Sometimes I think the shopping part is half the fun. But my goal now is just to work on the projects I already have the materials & ideas for. I never have a shortage of ideas. I do have a 15 month old son with seizure problems and he is also legally blind, so I have to find the time between Dr's appointments, physical therapy, services for the blind, and just all the other chores & mom stuff. I so wish I could craft all day every day - that would be heaven!

There's a quilt show in Orlando this weekend. I'm planning on going, if I don't have to work.

Jami,

My daughter swears by her Ariat clogs when she does shows. She says they feel like she's walking on cushions.

I have terrible feet problems, and I was wearing "I Love Comfort" shoes from Sears, but they quit making the style I wear.

I've had such a hard time finding shoes. I need shoes that are really padded inside. I did buy some Cabin Creek at Penney's that feel pretty good.

I guess my heels with the 3 inch platform are out of the questions...comfy shoes are usually flats or no heel...and because I am Shorty McShort-Short those are not an option. But my grandmother recently had to buy a pair of dress shoes and she got some slip on clarkes and was happy...and she is definitly not a dress shoe person.

I love the Eastland brand shoes. I have really bad feet and these shoes have the best support and comfort. Check them out! You won't be disappointed!

When in nursing school and then when working in surgery, I had to wear those ugly white nursing shoes (school and hospital had very strict dress codes). They sure did the job of protecting my feet. Since graduating from law school, I am now in the world of professional (aka painful) pumps.

I love born & aerosoles, lucky for me they are stylish and oh so comfortable. I have to have very comfortable shoes with 3 foot surgeries last year. I like to wear 2 1/2" to 4" heels and these are very comfortable even with the height I can wear them for about 14 hours straight when I go to miniature shows, knife shows and quilt shows.

My favorite shoes aren't too dressy, but since I have fibro, Crocs are a life saver. They now have rx ones that have more cushion. The sandals are great too. Worth the $$. My friend from church order herself 2 pairs and can't believe the relief she now has. Her fibro is really bad. She told me her feet don't hurt any more and no backaches.
