I made these for my 7 year old BD party favors(flip flops and ponytail holders)..i bought old navy flops during our tax free weekend(ours is 9.75% )with a 10% off coupon..used hobby lobby and joanns coupons for the ribbons with scrap fabric..i think it was cheaper than getting some "toys" that will tear up or be in the trash within a week...

What a great idea!! I hate all the junk my DS brings home from birthday parties and try to give out better favors for his birthday.

love how they turned out. I just bought a bunch of buttons to do pony-o's, snap clips and flip flops. Now I know who to ask if I need help:)

Adorable!! And agreed that I'd much rather get these at a party than lead-laden plastic! ;)

I have been trying some different things to make some of the flip flops. I think I have them figured out, but how did you do the ponytail holders? I love them and would love to try them out.
These are absolutely adorable!!! Please give us instructions on how you made these, what a cute idea.

Oh girls, thanks..i just made the bow..sewed it to the flop and then sewed the covered button to the bow and flop..i had previously made TINY holes in the flop to be able to sew them to it(you might not want to know how i did that!) ...and the ponytail holder is just small pieces of ribbon tied to a ponytail holder which was attached to the button loop on the back..sew easy!

Very cute idea. I want to try making those for my granddaughters.
I like the flip flops. they are simple and sweet! I have a qn on the buttons. Besidse sewing, is it possible to use fabric glue to stick them onto the button? i'm pretty new to crafts too. Thanks!

What a wonderful idea for party favors. I bet those little girls were thrilled not to mention their moms. I sure they appreciated not having another small toy lying around to step on. Did you take a picture of all of them at the party when they put them on?
