I tried using transparent thread but my machine doesn't like it. Am I suppose to use a certain needle or the tension needs to be loosened? Why doesn't my machine like it?

I wonder if a metallic needle would work. Where do you buy transparant thread at? Neat idea.

I would think the eye in a metallic needle would be too large for the transparent threads because they are extremely fine usually and the hole created by one in the fabric I would think is much too large. The invisble thread I have bought is a monofilament super fine thread and needs a 75 needle with a tiny eye and small tip so the hole is smaller.

You can purchase the invisible thread almost anywhere you buy your embroidery threads.

I use a 75 needle and I have problems with the invisible thread too. Glad I don't use it a lot because I would stay discouraged all the time!!!

Vicki, I too have used the transparent thread, for quilting. I didn't have a problem with it, and what I used was like what you used, very very fine. A lot of times it is just getting the right tension setting, BUT Chrissy are you using a thread stand or something that allows the thread to un roll really smoothly? That could cause a problem, if it isn't .
