Hey all,
I have a suggestion that I use when I am doing embroidery. If you have a design with a lot of similar colors and it seems tedious to you to sit and go through each color..use variegated thread to embroider your designs. This looks nice on leaves, trees and flowers. Ive also used them on things like bugs and such, it makes the design pop and there is a huge range of colors available. Check it out next time you do a simple design with a lot of colors. Good luck all. Candy

I agree, I used it for a lion's mane and it was beautiful

That is so funny, I do the same thing. It does work great since during the second color, it usually changes and it does save on color changes. :)

That is a great idea.....I just did a fall project and it had leaves, now I wish I had used variegated thread colours in yellow, green and rust. Lorie

I agree with varigated thread...I love it mainly because it is a HUGE timesaver....I do hate having to change colors 12 times in a rather simple design...and the varigated thread makes it look richer, especially in fall/earth tone colors.

What a great idea. I have some verigated threads--bought them just cuz they were so enticing, but i couldn't figure out where to use them

I have used some varigated thread once or twice. I made a big spider for a Halloween shirt and used the gray and black varigated thread. It made the spider kind of look like it was hairy. Turned out really cute.
