View Full Version : share your name?

ok...Iv'e been a member of this board awhile and I'm getting to know all these wonderfully embroidery and sewing junkies but know few names. It feels impersonal addressing someone by their post name...if you don't mind sharing your real name I would like to be able to address you by your first name when posting...I'll start...I'm Cindy from Diana Texas...I know many have this info. in your profile but many don't...I understand privacy issues but if it isn't a problem for you would you share?

I feel the same way and while I've gotten to know quite a few of the names, it's sometimes tough to remember. Then, of course, we have some new members that I haven't got a clue on their real name. I hope everyone will share their first names at least because it is nice to address them by their name sometimes. Honestly from a privacy standpoint, it's still pretty tough to figure much out from only a first name.

I'm Vicki btw which most of you might know already but some of the newer members might not know that. :D

I'm Nancy from Colorado (originally from Missouri) and Sherri - I do not look like you imagine I look like. I am almost six feet tall, very slim, athletic, in great physical shape, long shiny blond hair, no glasses, and wear model/trendy/stylish clothes even when I'm goofing off. Oh yeah, I forgot about my red sports car... Heeheehee...

Hi! My name is Joan. I live in Liberty, TX just outside of Houston. Even though I live in TX now I am originally from central SD. We also have a business in ND, so we spend part of our summer up there. The best of both worlds.

It's great to finally know names! And also, Nancy and Sherri, I think we're long lost triplets...but I'm also a swimsuit model! :) Hehe...it's fun to pretend...

Hey everyone! For those who don't know, my name is Susan.....which, after meeting 3 other Susan's at Martha Pullen last week, I've decided means funny, crazy lady! :p

I have an embroidery design of a VERY curvy woman in a swimsuit that I like to embroider with the quote - "I'm still a Hot Babe, but now it comes in Flashes!" hehehehe

Welcome back. Hopefully once the move is over you'll be able to come play here more often.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Yevonne!

After the thread Jami started about giving your children a middle name when they are born, I have names in my head now. I bet you have had to correct people that misspell your name your entire life.

I hope your move goes smoothly and you get to stay in one place for awhile. LOL

Thanks Vicki! You are so very sweet. We had a lovely anniversary.
Yes, I have had to correct a lot of people on the spelling of my name.
Now I just usually spell it first even before I say it. Saves time. LOL
Hopefully after we move I will be able to come back more often.

I'm really glad Cindy brought up this idea. I'm another blond, and are you imagining me as a 6 foot model, too? I wish! My name is Carol, and I live in Wisconsin on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan--well, looking through our neighbor's yard anyway.

Hi Everyone... I think you all know that my name is Dawn.
I have always thought it was FUN2SEW. My Car Plate had this on for awhile till my hubby got some looks when he would take my SUV up north snowmobling. Guys would look at him funny after reading the plate.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOo I just have it up in my sewing room. Anyway, those plates cost extra $$$.

YES.. I am from Michigan too! Along with Becca, Shan, Christine, Connie.
We all live within I would say 10 miles from each other!!!!

I think Jami should move to Michigan! LOL

Hi too!

I'm zen (my short form for my name) and from tropical country, Singapore. Its near Equator. No Snow, No Drought. Just hot, humid weather throughout the year. I'm new to Embroidery and in my country, its almost impossible to find much selections of arts n crafts stuffs for embroidery. I have a hard problem finding embroidery threads. For fabrics, we have mostly asian/japanese prints at some shops. They arent as colorful.fanciful as US/Australia. I even have to order my embroidery threads directly & comes only in big cones like 1000m, 2500m. But they are cheap and relatively good priced. :)

Another thing i realised that its good living here ..... i can get Japanese books from my local japanese store in Town at good pricing too!

If anyone of u decided to come by Singapore, pls let me know! If i have the time, I will bring u guys around to taste our good foods. Yum Yum!

Just ran across this thread while looking back to see what all I have missed. Probably should have done that first so I wouldn't be asking some of the same questions that ya'll have already answered. Anyway, as you've probably noticed I am kinda slow. "Always late and a dollar short"

Enough babbling - my name is Debbie and I live in Georgia. Never lived anywhere else except a town I was born in about 60 miles down the road and moved here when I was six. Been here ever since - (You know they have a mental hospital here in Milledgeville)!!!!!!!!

You're too funny Debbie. :p Hey sometimes being a day late and a dollar short can be a good thing.

Granny313
08-08-2008, 06:09 PM
:D THAT ALL DEPENDS WHAT YOU ARE LATE AT!! If I was ever a "day late" I knew I was pregnant!!! I think I would shoot my self now(LOL) And of course in some situations it could be bad to be just a dollar short

I wasn't joking about the mental hospital - there is one here!!! I worked there for 19 years of my life. It used to be quite scary when there were about 10,000 patients however it has dwindled WAY down. There are just more of us patients wandering the streets now!!~:trytofly:

I am goind to try and read some more of the threads today, so I am sure I may be back!!!

Keneta - I just noticed you said you went fishing in Northern Ontario. I am Susan from a little town near Ottawa - Canada's capital - which is in south eastern ONtario. I too went to a place called McGregor Bay in the north part of Georgian Bay this summer and it was beautiful. Where did you go? If you ever plan to return, let me know, my husband goes fishing twice a year in various parts of northern Ontario -he could pass along tips on great fishing locations. Glad you ventured up north - I know it is worth the trip.

I don't get on here much, but I enjoyed reading about everyone.

My name is Dana, and my husband's name is Jim Bob (yes, you read that correctly, and no he isn't a redneck or a cowboy--he is a city slicker.) We live in Haslet, Texas. A very small suburban/rural town just northwest of Fort Worth.

I was a children's minister when we married almost 11 years ago--on the 20th of this month to be exact, and all of "my kids" began to call me Dana Bob. They even called our children "little baby bobs". That evolved to danamom and I do have 4 precious little bobs--ages 3-9.

Keep sewing and posting everyone--I love your ideas. They are too too cute

Blessings

Welcome Dana. If I've said it already before then you are just getting an extra welcome from me. :p I'm sorry but yes, I laughed at the Jim Bob and the rest. LOL You need to find more time to come and post more with us.

Welcome to you also Lynn. I am sure you'll be hooked and want to come back often once you've wandered around the board more. This place can be addicting. Some days it's super busy while others it's slower because we are off either sewing or actually cleaning our house or something else. LOL
