View Full Version : Do u face new stitches problems after changing/stopping thread?
I tried to do some embroidery few days ago. Then I keep on adjusting the tension to make sure its right. I'm using Janome machine and tried tension from 0 to 1.5
When I have the tension problem fixed at 1 or 1.5 for certain materials, i face another problem. For eg, whenever i continue embroidery due to a thread replacement/stop threads to check etc...... the first few sewing will be like looping up and out. Very obvious. Is this a problem with my machine or what can i do to avoid this problem? Thanks

I don't ever have to adjust my tension so I guess I'm lucky that way but to answer the other question, no, after changing thread or bobbin I never have looping problems. Maybe others do and I'm just lucky?

I have the Janome 350E, and have never changed the tension. Which machine do you have?
I feel like crying because i tried another design today and there's the tension prob. When it seem okay, there's some looping once in a while. :bawling: Its waste of time and disappointing when u see loops here n there occasionally in a somehow-not-that-bad embroidery.
I'm using Janome Memory Craft 9700. It has Auto, 0 to 9 Tension Settings.

Do u set yr tension to Auto? I think 350E dont have auto tension? What number do u normally set as?

no the 350E doesn't have auto tension, but mine is set at 2.5
Thanks. I will test it out again using 2 n 2.5. I need to buy some cheap fabrics. Now i'm testing on my nice pattern fabrics :( I just started sewing/embroidery as a hobby. I called up the distributor today and she told me she needs to see my items to discuss with me abt my tension problem.
and yup. she told me if my tension is ok, dont keep on changing it. i have the impression that i should keep on adjusting my tension. itchy hand.
