Oh wow, I should have been a grandma before being a mother...I love it and love talking about the grandkids...They are adorable...I have a 17 yr old GS, a 4 yr old Gd,,,they are brother and sister,,,then I have a 3 yr and 2 yr old Gs,,,they are brothers...Matter of fact I had all of them this weekend and had a ball with them...Everyone should be a grandma...LOL

I went to a digitizing class last week and I was with 15 ladies that were all grandmothers!!

My daughter had been married for 2 years, and I was more than ready to be a grandma, when my son announced his engagement to a woman who had 2 beautiful children (whom he soon adopted). Within 10 months of his marriage, he and his wife had a little boy. Eighteen days later my daughter gave birth to a boy. In a years time I went from 0 to 4 grandchildren.
I now have 5 grandchildren with the possiblility of more in the future (youngest son is not yet married). They are the light of our lives. Being a grandma is the best job I've ever had. My heart and my pocketbook will never be the same.

I can answer yes to this now that my first grandchild was born August 29th, 2007. Finally after rasing three boys myself after losing a little girl at 5 1/2 months into my pregnancy and then my husband bringing another boy into the family I have a little granddaughter to spoil. YAY. I have her picture in my profile. Such a cutie.

I have an 18 year old but she better not til she is out of college.....I am still in the do I want to adopt stages. My 18 year old said I could not get pregnant (a few yrs back), that would be weird. I always wanted one more.

Is your 18 yr old in college already? If not, trust me, you'll LOVE the freedom once she's gone and you will be happy you haven't tied yourself down with another child. :D Ask me how I know this. HA! I LOVE my kids dearly and it was so hard to leave each of them at college but OH MAN, this freedom is rather nice after raising three boys for the most part on my own and now having a fantastic husband after replacing icky ones. LOL

She is in college, just still here living with us. I work at the local hospital and got her a job so she decided it would be smart to live at home, work ther , and go to the local technical college. So far nursing is her goal. Yeah. I understand what you are saying. My 11 year old is driving me nuts. I am one of seven so my mom really went through empty nest (especially since she raised all her grands to) so she talked adoption to. I am sure I will not but do fell so sad to see all the kids without warm happy homes. My husband is NOT on board. he wants to travel...:p

I have a friend that had an oops when her daughter was 13 yrs old and she was almost 45 yrs old so she started all over again.

By the way Vicki, your grandbaby is absolutely adorable. I guess I will play with my new great neice and great nephew. My GN looks a little like her with the little round face. She has HUGE chocolate colored eyes and really dark hair. My GN looks just like his dad..

No grands here yet. My girls are 16 and 13.
It will be a few more years, Lord willing.
I thought about having one more several years ago but now that my girls are teens I'm glad that we didn't. Couldn't anyway ...ended up with a hysterectomy at 31 yrs old instead. :eek:
I am looking forward to some grand kids though. Spoil them and send them home!!;)

I hope to be a grandma someday as my son is getting married in April. We will not be blessed with biological children due to some health issues. I am all for getting a special little person at the "baby store" and hopefully I can convince the new couple to go shopping sooner rather than later.

I have a dgs who is 19 months old. I thought there was no greater joy then having my children (7). I think with grandchildren you have learned so much more, so you appreciate them all the more.

one of my husband's sons had two kids, anthony and lizzie. gee i HATE that name.. anytime someone asks me "Do they ever call you Liz?" and i look them straight in the eye and say "Only *once*" scarey huh.

my son seth's girlfriend has a little boy i dearly love. i know they will get married. well we all assume so. that will be one, anyway. seth really needs to give me some little grandbabies. and then he will know how much i love him, even tho he thinks he knows already.

we'll see. he's still younger than i was when he was born!
