This riser is so great especially when doing shirts. A lady on another board husband made one and my DH made me one too

Looks like nice work, although I'm still unsure what they are used for.

You put your machine on top. That way you have a way to place the shirt so it hangs evenly, not all bunched up around the hoop

I want one! Can I borrow your hubby?

How about we swap for a few days Honeybee? Yours seems pretty handy, something mine is not, although he looks really good! :D

Sounds like a great idea. I could probably get my hubby to make me one.
I really want one of those.. Is there a pattern for one somewhere??? Maybe I can get hubby to make me one...

I have a 4000D and the embroidery unit arm thing (the part that moves) is so long that I don't think any shirt would fit around it and under the machine without restricting the movement of the arm. Does that make sense? Anyone had that problem?

I have problems hooping things and having to bunch them up under the machine and hope that it doesn't mess up the alignment???? I don't know what to do about this???

HoneyBee,
Thanks for the link. The riser looks like a good solution to the "bunching up" problem.

Honeybee, how does that effect your sitting position? Do you have to raise your chair up higher, or do you sit on a stool when embroidering?

My DH made one for me too- but I can not use it with my machines. It will not work- so bummed! It just sits there now under the table and I hear from my DH how he made it and I do not use it.

I find it easier to stand while embroidering. My machine is on a higher counter. My back hurts after while if I'm always reaching high to rethread my machine during a design. By standing I get other things done while a color is being stitched.

I have been wanting one of those since forever....Would you mind sending your DH to Arkansas for a bit....LOL...I just think they would be great for embroidering on T-shirts, etc...

You should get your husband to mass produce those and sell them on e-bay. Great job!

THIS IS NEAT !
Does it make it easier?
ha-ha...I saw something like that elsewhere for sale and I had already taken the measurements and bought the wood for my husband to make me one when I saw yours.

Oh, I wish my husband was handy, he is not, but if your house ever catches on fire, he'll be there with bells. That is just too neat honeybee and give your husband congrats for such a good job!

My spouse just saw me open up the link for the pattern and wondered if a table top ironing board would also do the trick.
He just doesn't want to build me one, has always taken the easy way out.
Have a great day

I have the 4000D and thought the same thing. Its just so big I hate to have it fall off of a base!
It really starts shaking at times to.

Is there a riser pattern for the designer1 Se? Looks really cool, and lately I have been doing a lot of sweatshirts, I think this would help a lot has anybody tried one on an SE?
If I can find a pattern my hubby would make it but must have pattern, oh well.
This is such a good idea. Sure wish my hubby would make one for me, but I'm happy that he stays out of my sewing room and really does not know (or care) what really goes on in the spare bedroom in the basement.
