This is for Vicki and any other computer experts out there. My husband bought me a new HP touchpad computer and I have no idea what I am doing. I was lucky I got on to post this. He is trying to give me everything I had before but I don't yet know how this thing works.
This is just a heads up that I will likely need you. I should never have sent him out alone to pick up his new televsion - he came back with all kinds of things - like a 52 inch Tv instead of a 46. I think its good but its a huge learning curve.
Help!!!!

No not yet. With my sister coming I spent a day cleaning the house and another day shopping. I have not had much computer time. My sister is off the see the Parliament Buildings and the changing of the guard this morning so I have a couple of hours. My husband is just hooking up the printers now so my software is next if we have time before they get back. We are off on our boat this afternoon. So by tomorrow I should have it done.
I think the reason I was in such a panic at first is that the new computer has a new version of Windows. Several things are different. Plus the keyboard is also different so I keep hitting the wrong buttons. I also am not quite used to touching the screen but hopefully that is just a matter of breaking old habits.
I will touch base tomorrow and let you know how it goes.

Susank I can't help you with the computer but I can be sympathic. I am such a creature of habit. I need an updated computer badly but I don't want to deal with the learning curve of a new one, so I am limping along with my old GATEWAY. It has been faithful. Hope you enjoy you new purchase soon.

The Hen --- I'm glad I'm not the only one!! I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.

I hope you get it all figured out. The next upgrade we will be doing is to Vista and it scares me to even think about it. But, knowing we won't have any choice after next year when XP is no longer supported is the reason why I upgraded my 3D to 4D while Viking was still offering such a great trade-in price for it.
I could NOT get used to a touch screen though. NO way. Good luck. Holler if you need more help. Did all the instructions make sense when you had more time to read through them?

Vicki - the instructions made sense and I have it all set up now. Thanks again.
It is Vista that I have on this computer. It seems quite a bit different to me but my husband has had it for awhile so he can work with it. I also traded up to the 4D when they had the trade in special. I didn't know the 3D would be a problem so I'm glad I did.
So for now I'm doing OK. The nice thing about this new computer is the 22" screen. It's nice to see the embroidery designs in that size. They seem easy to play with on the software and I think it will be good if I want to use the biggest hoop on the Diamond. Now I just have to get a machine!

Susan ~ From all we could tell since Viking released 4D they said they will not be providing support for 3D any longer so I doubt they will spend the thousands of dollars necessary to make that software compliant with Vista. That's what our thoughts were so that's the reason we upgraded to 4D while they had such a great trade up offer. Anyone thinking about doing so I believe that offer was good till the end of the year. Check with your dealer.
