Last week when I knew Faye was going to skirt the other side of the state, I wasn't worried at all. Then she was here and decided to stay a while. The winds were not bad it was the rain. We had over 29" at our house and naturally we found leaks in our roof that wasn't supposed to leak. Skylights and ceiling are begining to sag somewhat, but over all we were the lucky ones. I live on a little hill (6 feet or so...if you can call it one) so we had a little lake in our front yard. The tree guys messed up my yard a little when they came in to cut a tree off the power lines. We were without power for a little over 40 hours, my friend is still without power. Everything is closed due to flooding, a slow windy, wet day of napping and such. We are on water rationing for now, but it is much worst for some. By the weekend everything will be back to normal. We had a lot of beach erosion, a fair amount of downed trees and horrible flooding locally but it wasn't near as bad as it could have been. Next time I think I will be a little more prepared.
Roseanne, how did you fair? Keneta

Maybe we need to send a boat your way? I look forward to rainy days at home, maybe not as much as you all got. Now that the power is back, are you embroidering??:D

The power is so uncertain/brown outs, black outs, surges...I dare not turn my machine on yet, but I am cutting fabric to finish a couple of projects.

I'm sure glad to see you survived through it all Keneta and that it wasn't any worse than it was.

I am now in Memphis/Southaven on a business trip and it has rained for the past two days. Thanks for sending Fay this way so I can be drenched all the time. lol

Keneta,

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I've been pretty busy and haven't been here for awhile. Wow, what a summer!!!!!! That's another topic, though.

We made out okay during Fay. Living where we do, we didn't have any flooding and our roof didn't leak, PTL. We mostly just had some tree limbs down. I think we ended up having about 20" of rain here in Orange City. Debary, just to the south of us, wasn't so lucky. They are still dealing with flooding and parts of 17/92, the main road in this area, were closed for sometime. There are still some roads that are closed, but things are slowing getting back to normal. Hopefully things are returning to normal for you, also.

I am thankful that the other storms have left us alone. Though, I am sorry for those on the Gulf Coast that are getting it. I'm praying for everyone over there as Ike makes his approach.

Glad to see you again Roseanne! Good to hear your area was spared the worst. It's sad to hear all the places that aren't with each of these storms. I'm concerned about that next one. It looks bad, but thankfully for you it's headed off to the west unless it changes its track. Not so good for those west of you however.
