I am a new fairly new member to the embroidables. I am just learning to embroidery with my new Pfaff 2170. I have many questions that have been answered by just reading information that others have posted. My husband has been fighting bladder cancer for the past five months and had major surgery for this 10 days ago. He has stage 3 cancer that he now will take more chemotherapy to try and beat the disease. I am busy taking care of him each day but when he is tucked into bed each night I check the new posts and see what is going on. I don't personally know any of you but I feel that I know you from reading the posts each day. I just want you to know how much this site has helped me cope with this horrible disease because I get the opportunity to listen to what is going on with others and I know what a wonderful group of people all of you are. I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this community.

:) So glad that you decided to join us. I am very sorry about your husband and hope and pray that everything will be o.k. (with you too). Prayer is very powerful and this is a wonderful place to receive prayer support and well as support in general. I, myself, feel as though we are all family. Even tho, we have not actually met in person, the bond is there. :knuddel: As you can probably tell, we celebrate all our successes and help each other with all the "mistakes and questions".
Hope you enjoy reading all the posts and everyone here is a great help, so join in the posts too. Glad you're here!!:elefant:

Welcome to the site. I'm glad you have posted so we can all say hi and be here to help you. I'm sorry about your husband. Having watched both my parents die from cancer and currently watching my MIL fight her battle now for two years with breast cancer twice I know all the emotions and how hard it is for both the patient and sometimes even harder for the loved one helping them through it. You have to be SO strong for them when all you want to do is breakdown and/or scream. Good luck and lots of hugs as you go through this with hubby.

We are very lucky here and have a great group who are more than willing to help others on the site learn how to do new projects and how to do them.

It is wonderful to have you with us on this site. My prayers are with you and your husband. I know you are doing everything within your power to help him but don't forget to take care of yourself. My mom went through much the same thing with my dad and her own health suffered because of it. Aren't the ladies on this site wonderful? It is like having your own online family. Please keep us updated on your husbands progress.

i just found out that the stage 3 bladder cancer my husband is fighting is stage 4. We will be going to an oncology doctor at IU Medical Center in Indianapolis Oct. 6. He is struggling to recover from surgery my way of coping is being aggressive about this cancer. After this appointment I am driving my husband to the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York for a second opinion. Of course I don't personally know any of you but I have been reading the posts for the last four months and it is funny after you read the posts you feel you really know the people behind the scenes. Please pray for us if possible and thank you again for all the knowledge you have shared about embroidery. Reading what is going on all across the US and Canada helps me cope because it takes my mind away from the cancer. I try to spend about an hour or two at my sewing machine each evening because creating is what I love to do and is pure therapy for me. I don't know any of you but feel I know you all. I believe in the power of prayer so thank you for all your help.

You and your husband will certainly be in my prayers. I've had several family members who have had cancer, and it really is a battle for the entire family. I'm glad to see you are a fighter. My oldest son was diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome when he was five, and although it was not a life-threatening illness, it brought out the go-getter in this Mama. I researched everything I could get me hands on about this disorder and actually had to help some doctors along the way decide what to do for him. You keep up the fight and know we are praying for you and thinking of you as you prepare to do battle.

I'll certainly be sending lots of prayers your way for a miracle and a very safe drive. That's a long drive for you and hopefully you will find something that can help.

Just a thought I had ~ does your husband use artificial sweeteners at all? I won't mention any brands but my 2nd husband was diagnosed and treated for bladder cancer as well. The urologist told him to stop using the sweetener he was using because it was known to cause bladder cancer. He used to drink a gallon of kool-aid daily at work because he worked in a shop where it was horribly humid and was using a sweetener rather than sugar so he was getting it in high doses so to speak. If your husband is also using that type of thing you might ask the doctors about that to see if they have the same opinion.
