I love the leftover turkey, I just bought a turkey breast, because there is never enough breast meat leftover at thanksgiving dinner. One year my aunt forgot the sweet potatoes. I was kind of bummed about it, it felt like something was missing without it. I gotta have the sweet potatoes & the cranberry sauce too. We barely ever have that stuff except at thanksgiving!

OOOHH you put stuffing on your sandwich. That sounds good. Might have to try it this year.
I've only been making my own stuffing for a couple of years. Finally found a recipe we all like. Before then, it was stove top. I always make sure we have extra of that, it seems to be a favorite.:)
I would have to say the Turkey... I love a cold turkey sandwich...

I'll second the pumpkin pie! In order for there to be left overs I usually have to hide the pan!!

Stuffing, stuffing, stuffing
Just a word of caution about your leftovers..the doctor on the radio this afternoon said that leftover turkey is only good for about 3 or 4 days after it is cooked...so eat it while you can!
That being said..pumkin pie! At my house leftover pumpkin pie was no problem...my mamma and I were the only ones who ate it. She made cherry and lemon meringue for the rest of the family. So usually I got a whole pie to myself...hahaha

When I used to work retail, my "Black Friday" lunch was always a turkey sandwich on white bread with mayo, stuffing and cranberry sauce...Oh I loved it and it helped me get thru the evil shopping day dealing with customers.....LOL

Yeah, that is my grand plan for Friday to pack up some turkey and cranberry sauce sammiches (you double your leftovers in each bite) when I work at my husband's store. I worked retail for years but never at a store that did any Black Friday business so for this I am expecting not one minute of rest.

Well I hope for your sake you get a little rest on Friday, but if it's anything like where I used to work there will be no down time....sigh
Well all of my food was eaten today so don't guess I'll have any leftovers...I've had Thanksgiving 3 days this week and I'm kinda sick of turkey and dressing anyway...I'm ready for a hamburger!!!!

I LOVE the left overs! A whole meal already made.
Stuffing, that's what we didn't have yesterday. I thought something was missing, but didn't know what it was. We went to my MIL's house. We ALWAYS had the best stuffing growing up, now I miss it. :(

I'm on the eastern shore, just across the bay from Annapolis. I've lived in Maryland all my life and just love it! I go thru Carroll County when I go to PA for quilt guild and retreat :)

Where did you find the recipe? We are having a Thanksgiving meal this weekend and would love to make it. Electric skillet idea is great idea. Frees up the oven space and I do not like cooking it in the bird.

I had the last of the dressing and cranberry sauce for breakfast. We didn't do a big dinner this year. All the family has passed except for some distant cousins so since we are trying to watch the calories we decided to eat out. We couldn't stand the thought of NO leftovers at all so we got a dinner for each of us to go! It really worked out well...we got a delicious dinner with minimum leftovers and didn't totally kill the diet plans.

Maybe we should start a new non-embroidery related thread, RECIPES! I want both the PPP recipe, and the electric skillet stuffing recipe. Maybe I will have to do some web searches and see what I can find. The PPP one should be pretty easy to find, but they probably do not compare to Joy's.

Reading this (http://www.copacabana.info/churrascarias.html)will give you a little info. We have two in near Chicago that we go to and justs LOVE going there. The foods are all just amazing.
This is how the meats are cooked all night long, very slowly.

The gauchos walk around the restaurant stopping at each table. There are something like 14 different cuts of meats to choose from. They just keep coming back over and over until you can't eat one more bite. SOOOOOOO yummy.

As far as Thanksgiving, I think my favorite is a turkey sandwhich with Miracle whip on 12 grain bread and it MUST be white meat only. I'm goofy in that I love dark meat when the turkey is hot, but when cold, white meat only.
