Just got back from Kmart. I got an order this morning for some beach towels for a friend of mine who is going on a cruise. I didn't have any in my stash so I ran to town to see if anybody had any left.

Found a great deal.....Kmart had their 9.99 big nice towels for 3. I bought way toooooo many but I will get my money back for all 20 of the ones I bought on the 4 I already have sold. Guess I will pack the others up til spring.

Now if I can match some of the bags from Blankshirts with these towels I might sell the sets and make some money off them.

Good deal! You could also sew tote bags from the beach towels so you have a perfectly matched set.

OMG.....Lisa what a brilliant idea. Have you made any? Got any pics?

But wait, that means I have to go back to Kmart. I only bought one of each color.

I've done tons of totes but haven't done any yet with towels. It's on my (very long) list of projects to try one day.

Lisa, just can't thank you enough for the towel bag idea. I did go back (twice) and got more towels. I sold enough bag and towel sets the first day to pay for all 40 towels that I bought.

One towel will make exactly 2 bags. I bought 3 of each color so I can get two sets out of 3 towels. I sold the sets for 25 (3x3 = 9 25 x 3 = profit) I cut the towel in half and use part of it for the handles and a bow. They are really cute. I will make pictures and post them later. Right now I am just trying to fill all my orders but I wanted to post a thank you.

Lisa and Donna, this is a very cool idea, and it would be great to see the photos. Congrats on making that kind of profit, too. Whoo Hoo!

This is the first bag I made. I should have used a darker thread color. Like I have said, "I learn better from my mistakes.

I didn't measure them but I will. I cut the towel in half length wise and then took enough off the half to do the straps and bow. What was left I sewed down the side and bottom and made the bag. I will post dems tomorrow.
