You are supposed to eat it for breakfast!!:D At least, that is what I always thought. It really wakes you up in the morning!

We always had it for breakfast, but I guess dessert would be good too. ;)

Finally got around to making this for my family for desert last night. It was a big hit. Glad it isn't hard to make as they are already wanting seconds.
Thanks again for the recipe.

Did you happen to hear Rick and Bubba talking about Chocolate Gravy. It was on Rick's top 10 things he loves about Christmas. Thanks to Mandi I knew what they were talking about.

Oh my goodness. I knew you guys were cool, but when I find somebody that likes chocolate gravy, I know I will like them. For the best CG experience, it must be served with homemade biscuits.

My granny always served this over flapjacks (pancakes) when ever we
wanted them -breakfast, lunch & dinner. This is one of the few places I have ever heard anyone admit they knew what chocolate gravey is-we always called it chocolate syrup, I guess because of the pancakes. Thanks for the reminder.

I noticed this is your first post! Welcome to the boards! Hope you stay awhile and enjoy the company. It is a little slow right now. I think it has to do with everyone catching up after the holidays. Keep checking back in.:)

Wow, I thought my family was the only one who loved chocolate gravey over hot homemade biscuits. I found the family recipe came from Arkansas, where did yours originate?

My mother always made Chocolate Gravy as a breakfast treat over hot homemade biscuits and sometimes over hot from the oven - buttered toast! Yum!!! ;) Mom made everything from stratch! :)
The tradition followed with my children as well as my 3 brothers and 7 sisters children also. Mom made this treat for all our children.
Mother has been gone for almost 4 years and the grandchildren still talk about Grandma Leva's Chocolate Gravy! Wonderful Memories!
