It's been awhile since I've been on - school started again but I thought I'd share. I'm not sure how the images will show up but one is the first half of a recovering project- I'm not done with it yet. The original cover on my glider chair is an off white (although fairly stained now) so I'm making it look new again with the surboard fabric i fell in love with.
The pinwheel quilt was my first try at triangles and it was a lot of fun! Then I started quilting it with decorative stitches.... I am not doing that again (at least on a big quilt). It took so much time and the decorative stitches made it hard to prevent puckering on the back.

What a great job!!!. I started off quilting, then got into embroidery. Now I don't know what to do first.

I really love to quilt also. Got started in embroidery and don't take the time to quilt hardly anymore. Maybe - after Christmas!!! Do you quilt on your machine? I have a hard time rolling up the quilt and the extra to get to the place I need to stitch. Any tips or ideas?

thank you everyone!
With the limited amount of time I have to spend on my fabric obsessions it's hard for me to decide what to do as well. I do quilt on my machine. My problem is getting a flat area large enough to spread out the quilt in order to baste it and maybe getting it tight enough so that I don't end up with puckers in the back.
In order to hold the rolled fabric back I've bought big paper clips from the office supply store - the ones that don't look like your normal paper clip but have 2 sides you can move to open and close.
It's still a pain though to move it around.

I love the quilt. I am just learning to quilt. If you have a large quilt do you still quilt it on your machine or do you send it off to someone with a long arm? My first project is a little larger than a queen sized bed, so I still have not put the back on and quilted yet. Someone told me to quilt in the rows and then join each row with a bias strip on back. I am scared that will look ugly. Do you have any ideas?

I got something from Nancy's Notions that I think was called, "Jaws". They are like huge, round clips made to hold your rolled up quilt as you work.

Cute colors in the quilt!

You did a beautiful job on the quilt and I love the colours.....doesn't it feel good to finish a project? You did a good job on the glider chair too. That's what I need to do....... redo my rocking chair. Lorie

It definately feels good finishing a project like that.
debmac, I haven't heard of doing it that way and I haven't sent anything out to a longarm quilter but then again the biggest I've done so far is a XL twin.
I know it's possible to do but I would probably keep the quilting to a minimum myself with a large quilt. My advice would be to throw together some smaller pieces first to practice on.

The quilt is beautiful. I really like those colors. The seat cover is precious too!
Thank you for sharing.

Those are so pretty!! I've tried to dabble in quilting, but I just don't have the time or patience...there is so much other sewing stuff I want to do, so I guess quilting will have to take a backseat.
