Has anyone ever made a patch. My grandson is in a cub scout group and I was going to make a patch for the kids, but I have never done this. Is there a certain type of fabric or technique for this.

If you stitch out the design on organza you can then use a stencil burner to melt away the excess fabric and make a patch. Here is a link to an article that Jami wrote for Creative Machine Embroidery magazine, that uses that technique.
