I want to make some Key fobs out of ribbon. Does anyone know where I can buy the little metal part without having to order. I want to put some in the Teacher's Lounge at school, but I'm afraid if I order, they won't get here in time. Only 2 more weeks--after this week--until break!!!!!:D

I have never found any in my local stores. I have ordered them on Ebay and had rather good luck with delivery being quick.

Are you looking for the metal ring? Or the rectangular part that goes over the end ?

ETA: Thought I'd come back and add this now ~ this site (http://www.jcarolinecreative.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=KEYFOB) has the stuff you are looking for and I can post that since they don't have embroidery designs. ;) I can't say that I've ever found those things in any stores around me either.

Thanks for that site. Love the directions too! I found some on ebay last night. I paid $11.00 plus $5.00 shipping for 30 key fobs. Hope that was okay!! I'm crossing my fingers they ship out today!

One more question. Can I get cotton webbing at a local fabric store, or does that need to be ordered too?

dixiechicken......I saw lots of it at Hobby Lobby the other day when I was buying ribbon. They had like 15 different colors. Didn't look at the price, didn't think I needed any.

I don't know where to buy them in stores, but I always order mine from Etsy. Sadly my supplier stopped selling.

Those are neat, that's the first time I have seen them. What a great little gift.

Yea, they're all over Etsy, selling for about $5.00-$6.50 or so. Very cute, and great stocking stuffers or teacher gifts!

I know the nylon webbing is being sold in a lot of places now so you should find that easily in a local store. For sure you'd find black I would think. The cotton webbing though may be a bit harder to find without ordering from somewhere. I know that my ex used to go to the Army/Navy store (closed now) and they sold the army green cotton webbing to make your own belts because he liked that style of belt. If you have a store near you like that then you can get an Army green. :D

The nylon webbing though is being made in tons of really cute colors and even plaids and other neat designs. The site I posted has only two colors of the cotton, but they do carry it.

I ordered some from ebay too, and they came VERY quick! I bought some webbing from Hobby Lobby and JoAnn's, and it is only an inch instead of an inch and a quarter. So, the hardware is a little wide, but I still think it looks ago. After the holidays calm down, I'm going to order some webbing from the same place I got the hardware.
