I just got my machine yesterday. I am totally new to embroidering but I must say I am now hooked. I love it. The only problem I am having is downloading from this site. I tried using a free design first. I used the white flower. The machine takes the .pes type of download. I pluged the usb into the machine and computer and clicked download. It seems to have taken on my computer cause it is saved there and it did say on the display screen on the machine *USB download* but I cannot find the design anywhere on the machine. I also know it must be there cause the memory keeps getting larger. Does anyone have this machine that could help?

I'm not familiar with your machine but, I believe I'm right in what I'm about to tell you.

Most machines cannot see the designs until they are unzipped and put onto the transfer device you are using to get them to the machine.

Read through this page (http://www.embroidables.com/downloadinstructions/)and it will tell you step by step how to unzip the designs. It should help you. Let me know if you still have more questions after doing this. Good luck.

Also, it appears that when you registered you may have entered what you wanted the thread you created to say but instead it became your username. If you want this changed to another name, send Jami or David a PM(private message) and ask them to help you because they can do that for you. You can click either of the names following this and it will open a new page for you to send them that PM. To send Jami a PM click here (http://www.embroidables.com/forums/private.php?do=newpm&u=1247) and to send David a PM click here (http://www.embroidables.com/forums/private.php?do=newpm&u=1)

Oh you are not. Everyone was not born knowing how to do everything or there would be no need to go to school or to learn things...right? Smile! You have a pretty new machine to play with and there are a bunch of us here that will be or are very jealous of that. ;)

You should see some of the mistakes I've made before. :D

Ok I'm getting gooe now girls. I am currently doing a onesie (my machine is right here on my desk, I didnt walk away :) ) I did 2 burb clothes and one towel. I am loving embroidering. I did two other burb cloth with a million designs on them as practice. I will post pics as soon as I load them up.
I am so glad I found this site and read up on so many things before I bought the machine. Thank you all :)

I have another question. I downloaded a few designs off of the computer. I just purchased font and went to download it and the machine says memory full. I wasnt trying to save it (even though I would of liked to). My question is I thought the memory wouldnt matter if I wasnt saving it. Any ideas? Now I purchased this font and cant use it unless I buy a memory card?

What is saying it's full? The computer or your memory card? Have you saved it to your computer and then just attempted putting the format you want only onto your memory card?

I'm not super familiar with the memory cards and how they are used with a sewing machine since I don't use those but they do get full. If you are downloading all the designs onto the card then yes, it's probably full. I need to caution you about downloading directly to that card and not to your computer. If you are doing that you could lose all your designs if your card goes bad and yes, they do go bad. The other obvious thing is you could lose that card since they are so small. If your designs are downloaded onto your computer and then filed into folders say by digitizer/site name you got them from then you can burn all your sewing/embroidery files onto a DVD or CD. By putting them on your computer, you can then unzip them and only transfer the format you need to use for your machine to the memory card so it won't fill as quickly.

If you purchased any designs however, you DO need to save them or you are paying for a one time use and later you won't be able to go back and download them again when/if you want to use them again. I hope this makes sense. OF course, there are sites where you can go back later and redownload something you've purchased but you still should be saving anything you have purchased to your own computer.

I downloaded the designs onto my computer, then I tried to put them into the embroidery machine (with no memory card in it) and download it. I know I'm doing it right cause I've done it this way a few times already however this is a big file since it is font and it is not letting me download into the machine.
I guess I need to purchase a memory card then?

Let me jump in here. I have this machine, and what is happening is the machine is trying to download the entire font, the memory in the machine is too small for that. You need to download the font to your computer and then transfer each letter to the machine.
Hope that helps--

Kayy thank you very much. I love all the help you girls give. Thanks so much.

I did it the way you said and it let me put each letter I needed into the machine from the computer however how do you get it to be one word?
I embroidered the name Madison, I had to do each letter separate. It took forever and I had so much trouble lining up the letters. Am I missing something?

Jessica

ps girls thanks again. You are making this hobby such a fun one with all your help.

If you use the fonts on the machine it is easy to do. You just type in the name and embroider. For other fonts, I use Embird. I set up the name in Embird and then send to the machine and embroider. I purchased the Embird software after the machine and it has been very useful, well worth the money. Without additional software, I am not sure if you can put a whole name together and send it to the machine.

Which Embird program did you purchase? Will the one for the alphabet, the $15.00 one work with a font that I purchased elsewhere or only with Embird fonts?

O I see the one I think, the Embird font engine one 5.0 for $145? Thats the one?

Initially, I purchased the basic software and one of the fonts. Then I added a couple of other fonts. You can also set up fonts that you get on the internet thru this program. I purchased it from Secrets of Embroidery, it was
less expensive thru them, and easy to download.

It is cheaper there but still a bit out of my price range. My husband is going to kill me if I spend much more money on this *hobby* (aka new addiction) of mine.
I looked into the Embroidery Magic 1 program for $39.95. Anyone you know have this program? All I really want it for is fonts. Just wondering if I could use the fonts already purchased and download it to this software. And if anyone has it how they like it.
