Is there a website with video that shows you how to do applique? I haven't done one yet and I don't have time to go take a class at the shop where I bought the machine.

I am always looking for new applique designs for my embroidery machine. It's the only way that a perfect satin stitch will come out of my sewing room LOL

On the Innov-is 4000D you can make any design into an applique..It is so easy and so cool..I made a cactus and a wooden barrel applique and sewed it to my GS's quilt...

When you purchase an embroidery design that is an applique it will usually provide a seperate file that provides instructions on how to complete. Typically you will have to go through several stages before the design is complete although the process may vary from design to design you will generally have to complete the following:
stitch a layout of the design on stablizer;
this is where the directions may vary. Some applique designs will instruct you to cut the material to the exact size of the design while others have you cut a piece of fabric large enough to cover the applique area and then cut the overage when the applique is complete.
once you place the fabric over the layout you will stitch through the design. Once complete you will have a beautiful applique.
If you send me your email I can send you a design and instructions that I found for free on the internet.
best of luck
