Can anyone go to the Houston quilt market? Or do you have to own a shop or business? I'd love to go next year.

Blush, blush...you're too kind. We had a great show (tiring, but fun) and it was just icing on the cake to get to meet you too, quiltgirl. Hope you enjoyed your time as well. Are you staying for festival? We would have loved to so we could have met more of you, but I was feeling major mommy guilt to have been out of town for Halloween. Actually, I'm happy to be home to see my kiddos enjoy the fun. How are you all celebrating the day?

Good question, sewamy. Here's a link to Quilts website http://quilts.comwhere you can get more information. Market is only open to the trade which means you do have to have a quilt/sewing/embroidery related business to go. HOWEVER, Quilt Festival that starts Thursday is open to the public and draws a crazy number of vendors and attendees. If you have the chance to go I highly recommend it.

My girlfriend just returned from Houston...and she's not a vendor, just a sewing "civilian." She says there were 1100 booths. Wow, that's a lot of shopping.

I saw lots of chatter about the Houston Quilt market in lots of groups before that happened. WOW! 1100 booths? I'd be dead trying to get through that. It must be just huge. I can't walk through a grocery store with out pain so that makes me just cringe but oh, it sounds like SO much fun. There's a big quilt thing in Chicago/Schaumburg soon and then other things like that and I've always wanted to go but know I'll practically kill myself trying to do that much walking. I bet it's a ton of fun though getting to meet so many that you "speak" to online.
