My boss is a pilot and formed a charity a few years ago to fly kids with special needs around Birmingham so that they could experience flight. It gets harder every year to get the word out to these kids. Because there are medical issues, Dr.'s, nurses, clinics, etc. can't give out names of these kids. I hope some of you here might have someone who you know of that might enjoy this one day of fun and pass along the web site. http://dreamsonwings.com/ The kids can take their family with them and it really is a fun day for everyone including the volunteers. My charity group gets many referrals from the local support groups via the hospitals. I bet is you contacted the XYZ Support Group, they would lead you to many other groups who have kids who would love to forget their problems while touring the clouds. My son is a pilot and my daughter-in-law works for Jeppesen (the flight chart company). I'm going to tell them about this group.
