Peachy - it means Stay At Home Mom...of course, we all know that doesn't mean you don't work. If anything you work harder when you stay at home. :p

Welcome Sandra. Hope you have lots of fun here and get inspired by all the very cool things so many are making with the Embroidables designs.

I knew it was something easy like that, just could not think of it. No, being a stay at home mom means you work constantly, and most of the time the boss is a demanding, determined child. It is the best job in the world!

You got that right!
The thing a loved about being a SAHM was that I could put my kids in time out. I was never able to successfully do that at work. :p
One time I told my employee that I expected her to mind me...that did NOT go over well.
I was glad when she finally decided to quit. She was a huge stress in my life. Now I work for an incredibly stressful boss. I sure wish I could afford to just stay home full-time again....Especially now that all the kids are in school full-time. :elefant:

BEJoyed has it right. When we added up what I made, minus taxes, clothing, travel expenses, child care and all the other little things that we could think of, it turned out my salary was not really bringing in that much money. So, we just decided to see how it worked out with me at home. It has worked out well so far. I hope I never have to go back to a full time job.

Susan keep on working the embroidery and you may be able to stay at home.
Don't forget to sit down and really figure what it costs you TO GO TO WORK !
Usually you are not making as much as you think you are :(
Here in Maine at least 90 % of us work out of our homes, sometimes in addition to going to a regular job. But the computer age sure has made it possible for a lot of moms & dads to work from home.
meanwhile we like to have you here as much as you can :)
Well, I was a full-time SAHM working my own sewing business until a few months ago. I've had a LOT of emotional hits the past few years and my depression was getting the best of me. I found that I was spending all day in bed and not getting any work done. Needless to say it had a HUGE impact on my home decor sewing business.
As much as I hate having to go to work for someone else, it has helped me get my butt moving every day. I'm hoping that sometime after the first of the year I can quit and build my business back up. I really would like to buy the Janome MB4 and expand my embroidery business. There are a lot of schools in my area that I could tap into for their business.
So, hopefully by having all of you to keep my spirits up I'll be doing well enough to quit my full-time stress and keep bringing in the money that my family needs. I have a Senior in high school who wants to go to Baylor University - at approx. $35,000 a year.
Thanks for your support..
