I have comitted to making my husband a dive skin; much to my dismay I still need 1/2 yard of heavy weight spandex (4 way stretch) or lightweight neoprene. I forgot about one of the colors when I made the initial purchase. When I lived in VA there was a store that carried these fabrics (it was a two hour drive). I now live in San Antonio, TX and no one at any of the local stores can help. Any suggestions?

I finally found a store in Dallas that carries the heavy weight spandex! :p I will never make the mistake of not getting all the fabric I need for a project all at the same time. It was a costly mistake for me! The store in VA where I purchased the original two colors sold the spandex at $25/yd...the store in Dallas was $40/yd  Thank goodness I only needed 1/2 yard.

I really wish my legs were long enough to kick myself in the head!:mad2:
I finally pull everything together to start making this dive skin...
- pattern
- old dive skin for reference
- spandex material (um, Houston we have a probelm!) Seems that I relied on my memory when I purchased the third color of spandex in January! :o
The dive skin is going to be (someday??) black body, royal blue stripes going up the outside of the legs and arms and bright yellow banding around the wrists and ankles. So, my memory isn't too sharp! I pulled down the filing box that has the original two colors of spandex (I would have sworn I had royal and black!!) and then get the yellow that I bought in Dallas. Guess what...I already had yellow and needed black! Why did I assume??? Well, looks like this dive skin might be ready for next year!
