I've had this problem before and was able to fix it by adjusting the tension on the machine. Or if that doesn't work and you really need to get a project done, I've also used the embroidery thread in my bobbin so that you don't see the color change. Good luck!

Change the tension and make sure you are using the same weight of thread on the bobbin and on top.
Good Luck!

If changing top tension is it to be moved to a lower or higher no
You may also want to check how your machine is threaded. I had this problem when I first started and it was because I did not have my top thread fully in two of the guides ( A common occurence I have heard with my machine).

The bobbin thread is showing because your tension is not tight enough. Tighten your bobbin casing. Hope this helps
Tighten the bobbin casing. there should be a little screw on the outside of the casing. Turn it 1/4 turn
Does it depend on your machine as to what tension you adjust ( upper or lower)?
I have had the problem where my top thread has caught down around the bobbin - which pops the bobbin out, creating havoc with my design, and the project-
does anyone know what causes that? I have thrown out many projects because of this issue.

i think you should lower your top tension before you mess with the bobbin tension. most of the time, bobbin thread is finer then top thread. 40 wt. top versus 60 wt. bobbin. of course, if you're doing FSL, you might use the same top and bottom

Making sure the machine is clean can help too. If you have a bunch of lint caught within the bobbin area it may screw up the tension.

This is your tension!
Tighten it up or loosen it, just play around till you get the right look.
