I am getting a little disappointed with this message board. is everyone on vacation.
I like this message board because it is about embroiderying. I guess every one must be busy.
There doesn't seem to be anything exciting going on.

Hi Stitchn-jeans...Summer is definitely here and historically speaking, it's a slow time for sewing/embroidery across the board. People are out in their yards, on vacation, laying by the pool, etc. etc.
However, if you have questions or just want to chat, I do know that there are people still around here that would love to answer questions, etc. Feel free to get things going. ;)
I also have an exciting board announcement I'll be making in a few days so stay tuned for that. Maybe not as exciting as the announcement Jon and Kate Plus 8 will be making on Monday, but nonetheless, it's a good thing. ;) BTW, what does everyone think their announcement will be? Anyone following them?

This may sound a little bit thick, but who are John and Kate? I am in the UK so maybe I am missing something!

Ooooohhhh, yes, if you are in the UK you might not know all about Jon and Kate Plus 8. Basically, they are a TV reality family, (Jon is the dad, Kate the mom, 2 twin girls (8 yo I think) and 5 yo sextuplets. TLC (a cable channel) gave them their own show several years back and it has gained popularity over the years, but this last few months a bunch of stuff came out about their marriage being on a downward spiral. Yada, yada, yada. I will make a shameful confession.. up until this season I had only watched their show a handful of times, but then when all the media frenzy started up about their marriage, etc. I have suddenly become very interested in it. Lack of drama in my life perhaps?
Supposedly, there will be a big announcement on their show this Monday and I am wondering what it might be. Will they announce they're calling it quits or going to try to work things out? I hope they try to work things out. I feel so bad for those cute little kids.
You can check it out here if you feel the urge. (http://tlc.discovery.com/tv/jon-and-kate/jon-and-kate.html)

Jami, I'm with you, I hope they can work it out. Their children are so cute but Kate is a little hard on John. Maybe we all need to take a lesson from the show and let our husbands at least think that they are the boss! LOL Jo

Yes, I agree. Kate can be hard on Jon. BUT, after watching it the last few weeks, Jon seems VERY lazy...like he's checked out of the family. I think Kate carries quite the load.

BTW, just in case you are wondering? Yes, I am not surfing the net for Jon and Kate gossip...I'm stitching and tweaking some fabulous new designs!! Everyone's been asking for some fonts...you're going to get a beautiful one!!!

Sorry I don't follow kate and jon, but I know who they are...
Jami, I can't wait the the announcement of this Message board..I also think its a slow time with summer here and I have a BIG lawn to mow and flowers! BUT you always have surprises for us.... Yes I have been busy too with Graduation of Darc and her Open House and TONIGHT at midnight WE (hubby and I) will be kid-less as we are sending 2 of them on a mission trip to Alabama. Dani is at Camp Geneva as a Camp Counsler for the summer so we don't see her much anyway.... I REALLY want to get back into my sewing room next week and I have projects I have in mind to do and REALLY would like to post them too! That is my goal if I can keep my hubby busy doing honey do list around the house (if you know what I mean);)
Maybe we can start a Christmas in JULY Thread, that will get people start thinking about Christmas gifts for people? Anyone want to join me?
Well going out for Darc Birthday tonight she is 18 years old.... WOW, TIME FLIES!

Now that baseball season is over for us we are out in the pool with the kids. I have orders to do, but trying to work in the evenings to be able to spend time with family! I miss posting on here so much, but life has been crazy. Keith leaves again in January for Iraq and with him coaching football this fall, that leaves the summer for some fun. Football camp starts the end of July and the season is done for us around the end of October.
We did get away for almost a week to Gulf Shores. That was great to get away from home for a few days. I almost didn't know what to do when I got back!
I like the Christmas in July idea. Let's get the ball rolling! Inspire me!! Please!
Miss ya'll,
Jessica

I guess i should have realized that everyone is busy. That you for responding. About Jon and Kate i think it is to get a lot of attention. I hope that is it because it would be hard to take care od those children without two parents together.
Next week i am going to start making some baby blankets and some bibs.
In regards to posting if it just letters will i beable to post them

Hi, thanks for enlightening me on Jon and Kate. I have never heard of them before but I do feel sorry for them having that many kids!!! Now that is my idea of hell:eek: Were they fertility treatment kids?? She is maybe announce she is pregant again:D
Jami, I was wondering, will there be any chance of some more Fancy Pants designs to go with the latest releases from CHA?? You can tell I am a scrapbooker:D

I love the idea of a Christmas in July thread! As I am typing this my machine is busy stitching out Christmas tree lace bookmarks. I, for one, love Christmas and am always thinking about gifts to make throughout the year so I can actually enjoy the holidays when they roll around.
BTW, I heard on TV yesterday that the Jon and Kate announcement is that they are filing for divorce; if this is true I feel the sorriest for the kids :( They didn't ask to be reality TV stars.

That's a shame, but I think that is the norm for tv reality stars. Over here in the UK we have Katie Price (Jordan) and Peter Andre just starting to go throught their divorce. I don;t know if this was aired in the US or not but they were what looked like a rock solid couple....shame, it really is but when you think of it, even for the huge amounts of money they must be paid for this sort of thing..it must take its toll!! Can you inagine life with a camera in your face all the time:eek: The money must be tempting though:D

Wow, I'm impressed that you are doing Christmas stuff. That's awesome.
Yes, I heard that same announcement. People online reported that he was in NYC looking for apts. I agree about the kids too...very sad. If he is moving to NYC though that peeves me because I think he should stay close to his children. If he can't stand Kate, that's one thing, but those kids need him, too. I really need to get a life, huh?

Yes, they were both fertility treatments. You made me laugh though at the thought of the announcement of her being pregnant again. Now, that would be something.
As far as the Fancy Pants latest CHA release. We hope to release those as embroidery designs sometime soon, but they aren't in the immediate future. I love them, too!

Oh geez, how did I miss this thread? Oh wait, I know ~ I've been busy rearranging my sewing room and generally being busy with two of our four kids who have moved back home now. One just moved out again so we'll see how long this time lasts. Poor guy can't seem to stick with the same girl very long. :(
OH and the John & Kate stuff. UGH Two words ~ DRAMA QUEEN!!! I said a very long time ago she needs a chill pill the way she talks to her poor husband. And if you are REALLY bored and wanna read all the gossip with some extremely rude comments tossed in then this is the blog (http://gosselinswithoutpity.blogspot.com/)for you regarding that family. Among their latest guesses about the big announcement coming Monday are that they are finally taking their trip to the country his family came from where they will all find 'peace'. Another is that the apartment he's shopping for is for them to have a place to stay during all their taping trips to NY rather than to stay in hotels all the time and it's all hype that he's searching for his own place to live. Then someone said their old house which is/was still on the market might have been taken off and that it was done thinking he would move into their old home. The rumors are all over the board regarding the announcement. Who knows what they are going to say ~ probably nothing and it is another thing to get people to watch since their ratings dropped like a lead balloon since the season opening show where they had around 10 million viewers to the last show where it was hovering around only 2 million viewers. Maybe John is going to get out of the house more and go work outside the house so they aren't around each other 24 hrs a day. Not long ago OCC was looking for a new employee so maybe he's going to go work for them. Maybe when they were all there building John his new bike Paul Sr offered John a job to get the poor man away from her every day. :p
And Jami? You're keeping secrets from your moderators? A new font? WOOHOOOOOo that should bring those who are being busy in their summer lives back to the board. I wonder what other secrets you are hiding up your sleeve that will be getting the board buzzing again too????

I haven't been on the board much either, because there is always a huge number of things that need to be done in spring, when we can finally get outside again here in Wisconsin. Lots of gardening, and some embroidering. I just got a pillow done tonight with two Embroidables designs on it, and will take a picture tomorrow when I am awake, and there is light.
The pillow is a baby gift--the baby was born premature on Dec. 16th! I thought I had until Jan. 24th, but then when there wasn't a deadline, I didn't even start. I am so bad, and I am a great aunt to her.

It's been a crazy day/night here. Just getting things wrapped up in the studio so I can go watch it. I did pop over to People.com earlier today so I pretty much know what it is, but will still tune in to see how it all plays out. Sad, sad, sad!!!!
Also got Bachelorette set on my DVR to watch. It's going to be a good night. :D

Yea, the big secret is out now. I just wonder how they can handle that kind of turmoil in their lives AND continue this show too. I honestly feel like that show should end so they can focus on their family. Those poor kids need their parents now and will even more once their parents aren't living together.
I only caught part of the first show of Bachelorette and since then only a small bit from the others since.
*waves to all* I am here, its winter here, and bloomin cold!!!!!
Ohh, Jami, we are getting a new font? *fidgets with excitement* Do you think this would be before the 1st of july? I have a birthday gift that could do with a gorgeous font!!!!
Really I should be doing more embroidery - me and a girlfriends daughter did some the other day, but not using an embroidables design, so I can't show you. I used Sulky Solar thread though, and boy it looks so cool, very proud of her, she chose the colors etc.
I shall wait in anticipation for the new font!!!

:wavey: It seems as if I have been gone for months!!!! In reality - I have! I have been so busy - first, since my sister's death I have been dealing with cleaning out the rest of her things. Plus dealing with my "wonderful" (HaHa) brother-in-law. I went to arkansas for a week and then spent a week at our Church Camp. (Day and night - no AC - had a cabin of 6 year olds and 7 year olds) HOT HOT HOT!!!!! Came home and rested for the weekend and caught up on washing, etc. then hubby had to have back surgery. Have been taking care of him for 1-1/2 weeks. He cannot do anything for 3 more weeks. He is definitely getting cabin fever. So really haven't embroidered anything all summer. I am definitely having withdrawals. During all this time too, I have been keeping some of the grandchildren during the day so mothers can work or go to school. Hopefully things will begin to get back to normal soon. I wish I could take a vacation and just spend it in my sewing room and not let anyone know that I am at home.
Love the idea of Christmas in July. I bought some precious Christmas fabric last Saturday at a shop in Augusta. Am trying to decide what to make with it. Wish I could get started on Christmas and be finished by the time it comes. (LOL) When my husband was in the hospital, I took some cross-stitch to do and have been a little hooked on it, especially late at night. Anyway, hope I will be around more often soon.

Thanks for the update. I have missed you and wondered how you were doing these days. I am sorry to hear that it's been a rough few months. And super busy, too. Yes, you definitely need some R&R all by yourself. David is always telling me we need to go somewhere for a vacation, but to me the best vacation would be for everyone else to go somewhere and me to stay home by myself for a week. Is that terrible to say? ;) Can you imagine everything I could get done for a week with no interruptions?

I love the Christmas in July idea. Maybe I wouldn't dread Christmas so much if I could start sooner. I got some lovely Christmas designs from the new sets last year, and haven't even had the time to dream about how to use them yet.
We never go on vacation, but last year, I went to the AEC convention in March, and went to NH to see relatives I hadn't seen in over 40 years. I was so tired out that this year I am looking forward to staying home. Real live wire here--not!
Jami, I hope you get at least a mini vacation to do exactly what you want with no demands on your time. I don't know how you manage with all your little ones, and the business!

I actually get a whole week without any grands or children coming in..... I know that sounds horrible but you have to realize that I have them every day!!!!!!! I have declared this week as "my vacation" Of course this includes catching up on things aroung the house. But hubby and I really need to have some "quality time". School will start here on August 3rd so maybe then I can get back into my routine. BTW, have finished the cross stitch picture. I am planning to clean up my sewing room and then get to EMBROIDERING!!!!!!!!!! So then I plan to start and not stop until Christmas. I have sooooo many projects line up.

Well ladies, I am guilty as charged. I have not been on-line in a while, life has been hectic. I retired from my teaching job as of May 30 after 30 years of service and I just turned 60. My gift shop, Three Chicks and a Hen", has kept me busy. I have been embroidering beach towels like crazy. First, it was for graduation gifts and now to keep the kids towels safe at the water park. I am not complaining, love the business. I am headed to Atlanta to the merchandise market tomorrow, I am so excited, my daughters and I have a great time . I think the Christmas in July would be a great idea. I would love some inspiration for the holidays.
