This sweet, little girl of mine turned a year old last week. Can you believe she had the nerve to do such a thing? I am in denial that she’s growing up. Of course, I love watching her learn new things, but I dearly miss all the cuddling we used to do. She’s even starting to show a little attitude. And, as David put it, it’s not an attitude of gratitude.

Here’s a few pictures from her special day. She has coined the name “Claire Bear” over the last year, just in case you were wondering what was on her bloomers. Those are from my sweet mom…cute, huh? She also gets called, “Bear”, “Bear, Bear” and “Baby Bear”. VERY rarely do we call her just Claire.

Evan started preschool too so thought I’d throw one in of him as well. Know what’s strange about it? I didn’t cry when either of my older two started school…never shed a tear. However, the minute I drove away from dropping off this little boy who brightens my days more than he’ll ever know, I started balling. It’s only once a week for two hours, but it means he’s growing up.

She is just adorable Jami. Look at all those teeth she's already got. Did she rip into that cake at all or is she too dainty for that mess? LOL

And look at that little man all ready to go to school. Such a handome little guy. Sorry for those tears Mom but, they all grow up no matter how much we try not to let them. I did the same thing and it was even worse when we left my oldest son and started driving away from the town after moving him into his college dorm. I just bawled and did that for almost an hour.

Your children are adorable! It's hard to see them grow up but good at the same time. I am taking my oldest to her first driving lesson tomorrow and that is killing me - it means she won't need us as much anymore.

Enjoy all the moments.

Jami, they are both so sweet and precious. I remember putting my three year old on the bus, and getting teary eyed, too. It's hard! Good thing you have Claire Bear to lighten your days.

I completely understand how you feel Jami. It seems that if you blink an eye, they are walking down the aisle!!!! I thought I loved my children, and then came along my grands! I will tell you this tho. When you get a little age on you, your nerves "ain't" what they used to be....I kept 5 of the grandchildren this summer until school started. Needless to say, I did not get much embroiderying done (LOL). The final week of summer, before school started, I was about to pull my hair out! (They are all girls, close in age with the oldest being 12 down to 6 - hormones you know) On the last day that week, I was reading the paper and it had a cartoon that "just fit"!!!!! It was a picture of the school bus coming to the bus stop in the morning. At the bus stop was a little boy and a woman. The woman was smiling and the boy looked angry. The caption under the picure was how I felt that week - It said - It's a school bus, Mom. Stop referring to it as "The answer to my prayers". I thought this was sooooo cute!:hahaha:

We tried getting her to rip into it, but she wasn't much into it. All the mess you see is from her brothers, not her.

Too funny Jami. That's exactly what my granddaughter did. She cried when we stuck her fingers in the frosting.

Haha. Aren't they funny? We had to force her to eat the cake. It's such a cute age.

Yep, they sure are. We have the pictures to show her how freaked out she got at frosting when she's older too. :D

She's still just so cute Jami that it doesn't matter although if you're like I was, it was a little sad to me that she wouldn't tear into that cake the way my kids did.
