When beginning to embroidery you should always check your needle and tighten it before beginning a new embroidery design, very important as
this is a very important part when you embroidery the needle can come out, mess up your design.

i have had that happen several times on my ULT, when I had it...The needle would just fall out...I never thought to check to see if it was tight prior to stitching,,,but learned to do that...
I had a needle the other day catch on something, could never figure out what, but it broke and hit me in the shoulder...It really scared me...I was thinking what if it had hit me in the eye...
So that is very important to tighten needles before stitching...
I've been told that you should change your needle every time you start a new project.
True??

I change my needles regularly and I use Titanium Organ brand needles. I buy them 100 to a package.....very cost effective to do it this way :)

I need to find something like this! I never have a new needle when I need one, because I forget to think about that!

I bought my Organ needles from www.allbrands.com They have great prices for larger quantities of needles. If the Viking can use Schmetz needles then the Organs should work.

I've started doing this each time I turn my machine on. I had the needle come loose 2 different times in the middle of a project. I was standing there to stop the stiches. It was a good thing because the machine didn't know it and kept sewing.
