Leftover bridesmaid dress??

I have a beautiful bridesmaid dress I wore a couple of years ago. It is a dark Christmas red and I want to make something with it, but not sure what. Any ideas? It would have to be something simple. I am learning to sew as I go.

In regards to the dress, if it is fabric that you really like you can make pillows. Someone just brought me left over fabric from a dress and they want monogrammed pillows made out of it.

I don't have enough experience to do a dress for my dd, but I did some more thinking and decided to make a tree skirt and as many stockings as I can make out of it. I want to be able to give the tree skirt as a gift to the bride and the a stocking to her daughter and mine. I'll embroider something special on the tree skirt. Got any ideas, besides the usual date kind of stuff.
