These are so awesome looking and no messy glitter rubbing off each year and getting all over your other Christmas decorations. Very cool! I don't think I have time this year myself BUT, this is a great project for the Fall with your kids and even better ~ go buy these clear ornaments right after Christmas and you will save tons of money and be all set for next year.

I don't think I have ever seen these clear baubles anywhere  Don't they look great though with the glitter inside. If you see them anywhere Janet, please let me know where:)

You can normally find these in any hobby store because there are many that make their own ornaments with them. You might call a few which are near you and ask them because now most are going to have those on clearance now that the holidays are over.

What gorgeous Christmas projects. How did you do the white writing on the bauble? Is that on the outside?

Janet I can't believe sometimes that we have now live where there are no good out of town stores like there was in Southampton (5 miles from where I used to live). We had hobbycraft about 10 minutes in the car away from us in Hedge End Hants. Here in Hastings we have nothing. As if that wasn't bad enough, Southampton only went and opened an Ikea within six months of us moving away!

Glitter...I have some small pots of micro glitter that I think would work for the baubles. I will have a look for it later to see what it is called.

That turned out great. I really need to get out and buy some of those clear bulbs before they are all sold out this year. They would make great presents next Christmas.

I have craft robo which is just like the cricut but the UK version. It has a huge learning curve attatched to it though which doesn't interest me at all. I have had it three years and barely use it. I will never be able to design my own templates for it but I have sussed out how to cut other peoples GSD files:D There are some clever people out there.

Today I was in town browsing around and I found those plastic balls:eek: I wasn't even looking for them:D Janet if you are looking for some they are selling them in Boots. They are half price. Original price is £6.99 for four. They are with all the Christmas things which are reduced, all to half price I might add. If I had money to burn I could have spent a fortune in there. I didn't actually buy any although I might go back tomorrow or Thursday and get a pack. They are advertising them as photo balls:confused:

Our Boots in Gillingham is small, so doesn't have a selection of Christmas things.

What a bummer. Is Gillingham a small place then? I have never been there. Changing the subject a bit...I went into WHSmiths today and found a magazine on machine embroidery. I am not overly impressed with it though as I am wondering what I actually paid £4.95 for!! Any designs in it have to be paid for online and the designs didn't blow me away either. It is called Flair. Is anyone familiar with it. I see they sell it in Canada and the US too. It is a UK magazine though, it comes out quarterly.

I am so bummed out - I couldn't find any clear ornaments when I was out and about this year, could find tons of everything else. Seems when I don't want them, they are everywhere but when I do want them, they are absolutely nowhere to be found. So...............maybe next year.

I did a google search for clear glass ornaments and found a lot of places selling them and many are showing sales now. I just don't feel comfortable posting those sites here as I've never bought from any of them myself.

That's ok, I went to a store called STATS near me and found tons of them, large and medium sized. They are all blown glass and with the sale I was able to get 6 of the medium size for $4 so stocked up. I make Christmas ornaments every year for the people at work and my Bunco group and these will be my ornaments for next year. They are beautiful and much less labor intensive than my usual, which is definitely a GOOD thing. Thanks so much for finding and posting this great project!

Wow. You got a great price. Since UPS never rings my bell which day should I be keeping an eye out for my delivery to arrive with my ornaments? :p

Hobby Lobby has these available on their website, 12 clear glass ornaments (2 5/8 inch) for $3.99. My sister ran out to her local store the day after Christmas (she said the store was not busy) and she was able to get 3 dozen at 75% off! She will use them with her Girl Scout's in the Fall.

I was at the dollar store today and on a whim went down the Christmas isle and found clear glass ornaments with designs imprinted on them. Some had really cheesy designs, but others had beautiful glitter stencils - snowflakes, spirals, stars. I bought them all. My girlfriend borrowed all my glitter during the holidays, she's supposed to return it tomorrow. I have my bottle of Pledge floor wax. I'm ready to rumble!

Have fun Leslie! I REALLY need to get out of the house and go see if I can locate any for myself or just order some from somewhere online.

Here's a picture of a couple of ornaments I did. These are the clear balls with a glitter stencil already on them that I bought at the dollar store. What a great looking and easy project!
