Hello All,

I recently purchased the Kenmore 19005 and also new to embroidery and looking forward to learning about embroidery and purchasing designs. When I'm not spending time with my family, I can be found in my sewing room sewing garments for myself, crocheting, beading, scrapping & knitting and recently added embroidery to my craft.

The machine is only a few days old and I've managed to embroider a few designs using the built-in designs which worked well. Now I am ready to move on to uploading designs and recently purchased the compact flash adapter & 4gb card and have since uploaded 2 free designs. However, my machine is unable to read the format and not sure if I need software or have the wrong size compact flash card.

Looking forward to fun-filled embroidery days:)

Hi Sheila!

I am not familiar with the Kenmore 19005, but I can tell you that my Brother will not read anything from a thumb-drive that is larger than 2gb. I would try to load the same designs on the smaller drive and see if that works.

I'm sure that once you get over the initial learning curve that you will love your new hobby (or in my case, obsession!) You will find nearly all of your questions might already be answered here, just use the search button and you will be amamzed at how many topics have been covered. Good luck!

Hello Sheila ~ Welcome to the groupo here. I'm sorry you haven't gotten many posts welcoming you here. I can only say that is not the usual thing and am sure it's because of the holidays. I hope you come visit and join in with all the different threads on the board because you will soon find that everyone here is very friendly and super helpful.

I also am not familiar with your machine. I hope you have figured out the problem with the loading designs problem. I could be wrong but, I THINK I recall that Singer machines use the format XXX. Which format are you using?

Also, if you haven't found them yet, wander around the Embroidables website and check out each of the design set pages. There are free design sample designs in many of them which you can download and try out before buying the entire set. I'm going to assume that you have noticed the extra special thing Jami did for us all to save some money and build our Embroidables design files by doing a "Daily Deal" where you can save a lot of money by purchasing things which are put on special. Keep an eye out there because some days there is a single design on the Daily Deal and then every once in awhile there is an entire set on special there which is a great savings for us.

Holler if you need any help because there is usually someone around to help you. There have been a lot of great posts on the board and many do not realize this but up in that top dark pink line across the screen there is a "search" button to click. Once you click that it will give you a box to type into. You may want to type "Singer" and see if there have been any previous posts about Singer machines.

Hi Sheila, welcome from me too. I am relatively new here too but this board is a mine of information and people really are so helpful. For every problem you come across, somebody else has come across it before you!!:D It's true:D :D I am afraid I can't help with your problem at all as a newbie myself but just wanted to say hello from snowy, cold England.

Hello Everyone and Thank You.

I have managed to get 4mb compact flash cards which my machine was able to read and have managed to upload a few designs. Over the weekend I enjoyed the pleasure of stitching out this cute design as well as making shea butter soap and a vanilla scented candle.

Off to check out embroidables designs... I want to make spa sets with a valentine theme.
