Embroidery Software Poll

I would like to do a poll on embroidery software. Looking to purchase new software for editing and light digitizing and would greatly appreciate input from everyone. This is for home use mostly working with toddler and baby items. Please participate and let's see what everyone thinks. This will probably help quite a few new beginners out there struggling trying to find good information.

I use digitizer pro from Janome

I use Husqvarna/Viking 4D Embroidery Extra. I like it but it is very expensive.

I don't own a full blown digitizing software. The two choices I would consider purchasing after a 30 day trial my husband and I both did on our own and the research and another trial of a second program he did are not listed in your poll so I won't be voting.

I know there are quite a few members who use this message board own Embird and also the Viking software they probably won't be able to vote either as those are not listed as well.

I won't be voting either; I have Bernina Designer Plus software. I love it, but it is very pricey! I've done quite a bit of digitizing simple designs and I find that it is easy to use.

I am finding out Embird is a very popular software and from research looks like the way I'm going to go. Any suggestions who to purchase from? Would like to be someone that supports products they sell. I've seen several comments concerning support for embird and that's the only thing that makes me a little nervous.

Can the poll be altered to add embird and others mentioned above? It would be great to see the numbers of users for each one.

I don't use any of the programs you have in your poll, but thought I would throw out to you what I have and use the most.

I use Embird basic, which is the editing part, and bought it from the Embird site. I have had a few questions, and they were somewhat answered by the owner, but there is a Yahoo group that is very helpful. It is the program that I use most.

Second most used is Explorations by OESD, which is great for generating applique, and sizing for an article of clothing or whatever.

For digitizing from scratch, I use Janome Digitizer Pro.

For lettering I use Monogram Wizard Plus by Needleheads/Paramentric Systems.

I wouldn't want to do without any of these, but I did buy them over time. I got my Janome Digitizer first, because the dealer recommended it, and it allowed me to make some things on my own. It is pricey though.
