Does anyone know of a product that I can use on the end of cut satin ribbon to keep it from fraying but that doesn't darken the ribbon like 'fray check' does?
Thanks,
Jen
What about trying clear fingernail polish, not sure if it darkens the ribbon or not. Even super glue might work

I have a wood burning tool that I use for burning the ends a little bit and they don't fray...I use ribbon in many things that I make for my GD and that's the best thing I have found...I suppose you could do it with a match just be careful not to get to close and just burn the very tip ends...

I've used the wood burning tool too, and it works wonders. I've never tried it on a satin ribbon, though. Hmmm...

I don't have a wood burning tool, but I use FRAY BLOCK by June Tailor. I have never had a problem with it spotting, but it is always safe to do a test first.
One time I used Fray Check on something I had monogrammed with black polyester thread, and it made the black thread run. What a mess!

If you run a straight stitch across it before cutting and then cut close to that stitch line it would work also.

I was thinking about this later last night. Do they sell some sort of spray that would keep it from coming apart?

I have used FrayCheck as well. I HIGHLY resommend it! It doesn't leave a stain on the ribbin or fabric. You hardly know you've treated it when it dries. It comes in a little tube/bottle and you run a thin line across the ribbin / fabric and let dry. Work like a charm!

I agree with ShirleyC. I also use Fray Block and have had great luck with it.
