I have one daughter and hubby and I are not planning to have any more. I am an only child and turned out OK. My daughter is 14 (almost 15) and really doesn't want a little brother or sister....LOL

I have 3 children, 2 girls and a son...He's my baby even thought he turned 30 in February and got married this past August. I'm always giving him advice whether warranted or not...One day he said something about it...and I told him "Son, when I stop giving yall my opinion/advice you might as well tag my toe". LOL

Awww man...I have none ( I am waiting till I am done with law school..but I graduate in May so this all may change). But really I don't need any...I have 6 nephews (counting the two who passed away), one niece, one grand-niece (you better believe THAT makes me feel old at 29) PLUS! I found out yesterday my sister Michelle is pregnant and today that my sister Angela is pregnant. My family is starting to think there is something physically "wrong" with me, being surrounded by all these breeders and all!
I have a boy and a girl. My son just lost his first tooth- what excitement. Who'd a thought I would be so excited about playing the role of the tooth fairy?

Aww...I would be psyched too! Do you have something special to keep his teeth in yet? My mamma always meant to get nice containers for all of our teeth. When she passed away and we were going through her things I found my baby teeth in the same old Bayer asprin bottle they always were in. Surprisingly all of us girls thought it was funny and laughed.

I have one 2 year old son :) He's actually nearly 3, which just BLOWS my mind! I couldn't have a baby for years, and after 4.5 years of trying (and one documented miscarriage - more probable miscarriages) we finally received our beautiful son, and I cherish each and every day with him - he is my miracle!

I have nothing yet- thought about making a little bag (embroidered of course)
I put it in an envelope To: the tooth fairy. It made it easy to find under his pillow. It is still in the envelope- hidden in a drawer. I've got to do something with it.
I should get something together. He has another ready to come out, and his younger sister has 2 loose. Soon, I will be over run with little bitty teeth... EEEKK!

At one time I found the cutest pattern for a paper pieced quilt tooth fairy pillow. I of course meant to do it before my daughter starting loosing her teeth but I missed out on that as well. My daughter is five and has lost two teeth, both of them at day care, so I missed out. She called me at work to tell me about the first one and I almost cried. :(
I decided to give her dollar coins from the tooth fairy becuase my mom always gave us some kind of special coin like Susan B. Anthony dollars. Did you know that just released new dollar coins for the first presidents? So I figured maybe should could start a collection of those.
I have 2 boys..9 and 5 years old...I have really been thinking about 1 more in hopes that it will be a little girl.. I would sooooooo love to have a girl with all of this sewing I am into. She would be so spoiled(or either the biggest tomboy ever)Ha Ha!!!:D

My mom kept my baby teeth in her jewelry box LOL....Now that was a shocker when I raided her jewelry box in middle school for earrings LOL
When my daughter lost her teeth there was barely anything to keep. She was a horrible tooth grinder and ground them down to almost nothing before they fell out. Luckily when her permanent teeth came in she stopped gronding her teeth.

My daughter is a big time Tom Boy and has never had any interest in cute embroidered jumpers or shirts :( . She's into the Japanese anime so I have a few oriental designs to use for things for her.

I lost a little girl at 5 1/2 months into my first pregnancy. Then I had a boy next and we decided to try for another hoping it would be another girl. No such luck; twin boys and for six months of that pregnancy the docs said I was having triplets. I spent a month in the hospital with that pregnancy because of a gall bladder attack the day after Thanksgiving. Then in January when they were born by csection, immediately following the section, they cut me open for the gall bladder removal surgery. That was the worst recovery ever and I was a mess with two large incisions from the two surgeries. I kinda decided that was it. I was not having anymore kids. LOL Thankfully our first grandchild just born this August was a little girl so I finally have my little girl to spoil. I just had to wait a few years more. :D

Nope, no kids and never really wanted any. We were careful not to have any when we first got married then when the pills were giving me fits I had to get off of them. We decided if it happened fine, if not that was OK, too. Then in our mid 30's we really sat down and seriously talked about it and decided we liked our life just as it was. We like kids and had a niece and 2 nephews as well as several cousins that would fill any need for babies we might have. So around 35 we decided not to have any at all and we've been so thankful for that decision over the years. Every time we had second thoughts we'd go get one of the family babies or younger kids and keep them for the weekend...that usually cured us! LOL!
Jenz....I can identify with you about people thinking your were "broken" because you didn't have any kids. It's sad that so many women are judged by their ability to reproduce, I can't tell you how many times we heard "Oh, you poor thing." Then when you tell them it was your choice...OMG! You're the next thing to a monster! You can see it come over their face.
What's funny is so many of those friends who had all the kids when we were young and told us how selfish we were for not having kids are they ones who have envied us our freedoms all these years.

Deedles - I really admire your decision if you and your husband did not want them. Even though my kids are the best thing I have done in my life, parenthood definitley is not for everyone. There are too many kids in this world that are born to people who either should not be parents or did not want to be in the first place. In either case, the children usually lose. I think people should only become parents if they truly want kids and are willing to be and do what it takes to be a good parent. Please don't think that I am trying to say that you would not be a good parent, just trying to say I admire you for not giving in just because so many people think you should have them. Does that even make sense?

It was actually pretty depressing when a co-worker told me "I thought your were too old to have kids." I was 28.
I have talked to several married and engaged women around my age who are in law school with me and all say they are waiting to have kids. But all of the married women are getting pressure from family about kids. At my wedding reception I got asked when we were having kids. I asked if I could at least cut the cake first.

What? Too old to have kids at 28? Is she kidding? UGH. I have a friend that had an oops at the age of 42. Obviously not the ideal age to be having your 3rd child but hey, you take life as it comes sometimes right? LOL

I am late in on this conversation as usual. I work all day and try to look at it at night. I have 2 girls. They are terrific. One is 18 and she and I were always best friends. I married my high school sweet heart only for him to turn into a drunk and me have to leave him at 22 and Taylor was 1. So for a while it was she and I against the world. I then meet my husband of today who is wonderful, although I am sure I do not tell him enough. He is a SC highway patrol and works crazy shifts. We had a little girl, Sydney who is now 11. She was the cutest thing. Had huge blue eyes and dark curly hair. Now mean as a snake spoiled but still love her. I finished up working with the youth at my church with my 18 year old this past year, had one summer off, and now I start over again with my newly 6th grader for 7 more years. But they give me way more than I could ever give them. :-)

roflmao Too funny - "mean as a snake" ~ well for US, it's funny. Those kids tend to do that where they are just so cute one day and the next day they wake up and your life has changed overnight to dealing with that attitude. The sweet and cute part does return again I've been told.

Wow, looks like a neat group, I have 4 kids, 34,33,32, & 26, GBGB. That was plenty for me, I also raised two step sons for 12 years but that was a long time ago. You would think I would have a lot of time on my hands now with all my children being grown and gone. I think I am busier now or maybe it just takes a little longer (I have PD). Either way I use to do a lot more in less time.
You must be so busy when do you sew, or rest or even breathe? Rather you than me...but that is probably not true, it must be wonderful to see them all grow into their own person.
It is great to see my granddaughter grow (she is 3 1/2 years)and full of curiosity.

In various other posts I indicated how many children I have...but though I should add it here in the official area too.
I have two boys. An April boy, age 8, and a May boy age 3. (I added the months for anyone who might be into astrology. I don't know much about it at all. I know that I am an Aries and so is my older son. We but heads a lot. (RAMS both of us.)
They both took there time getting here and needed plenty of help. They are both healthy and happy (usually) and the joy of my life. It is not the way I would have planned it...but I am sure it is what is best for me.
I am all about being a mom.

I have two children, both girls. 16 and 13. They are both wonderful. I have taught in small Christian schools for the past 10 years, and have had the joy and anguish of teaching both my girls. The younger one for 5 of her ten years of school. I would not trade it for anything.
They both have picked up sewing somewhat. I'm hoping that it will flourish in years to come.

Get yourself licensed as a home day care through your state and then you can watch other kids and when you take them to school you will still have your freedom. ;) Just advertise yourself as an before and after school daycare and not take babies and you'll be all set. Plus, if you are licensed and enroll into the food program where you follow nutritional guidelines (which you probably do anyway) then you'll be reimbursed for meals and your children are counted as the total number of those you are able to watch as a licensed home daycare so they are also counted in the reimbursements of food. Yea, you get reimbursed for feeding your own kids as long as you have one daycare child other than your own eating that same meal or snack. Sooooooooooo there ya go.
