Don't know if you have noticed that Judie (Kidzbizz) hasn't been on the message board lately. I lost contact with her in November and have tried everywhere to find her but had no success. She finally sent me an email Sunday and I was soooo relieve to hear from her. Unfortunately, the news from her wasn't good. She has been dealing with horrible health issues. Today she get results from her latest test and I hope you will join me in saying a prayer that the news is good.
Hope it was OK to post this here. I just thought some of the older (been on the board longer, lol) members would want to know. I am sure they missed her post as much I have.

I'm sure David and Jamie won't mind, I'm adding my prayer to your's and hoping Judie is back "on board" soon and I pray that she has a loving support group of family and friends around her at this challenging time.

Because it's Ash Wednesday and I will be on retreat, even though I don't know Judie, it will be easy to remember her in my prayers.

Oh Susan, are you o.k.? I hope and pray that you and Judie are alright. It seems as if everywhere I turn someone has bad news. Please let us know how Judie's tests came out and Susan, take care of yourself.

Yes the news was good. Here is a site Judie's daughter started so her friends could follow her progress. (Jamie said it was OK to post it) www.wearekickingthebigc.blogspot.com

I am glad to hear the news is good - what a relief!
Granny 313 - sorry to worry you - I am fine except for being a little traumatized. My father was assaulted by a nurse in his nursing home last Thursday night. She kicked him in the face and broke his thumb. He is pretty beaten up. The police only talked to him yesterday so no charges have been laid yet. It has been a week of hospitals, doctors, administrators, lawyers and terrible trauma. I guess I was sympathizing with Judie waiting for results and hoping they were good. My father has had a lot of tests to make sure there was no bleeding into his brain and that no other damage was done. He is on blood thinners and this kind of blow could have killed him.
How can people do this? I am sick with worry over his safety.
But on a positive note - I am very glad to hear Judie's news is good.

Susan-
how or why would someone do that to an older man? I pray that your dad is fine. Please keep up update.

Diana - we have no explanation as to why this happened. We have heard that this person may have done something similar before. Apparently, when the nurse on the next shift came on duty she saw an incident report and went to check on my father not because it looked like it was something serious but because of the person who filed the report. This is very suspicious.
In reality we have had no confirmation as to who did this. All we have been told is that the person is not there and won't be there pending the outcome of an internal investigation - as well as the police investigation - and one by the Ministry that oversees nursing homes.
We have heard indirectly that the attacker is saying he did this to himself. The doctors at the hospital say its not possible. It's all very ugly.
What makes it worse is that we have not been able to visit him since this happened. The facility is in lock down because of a respiratory virus as well as a stomach bug. My sister was there briefly when she came back to the home with him after he was released from the hospital. She got the stomach bug the next day and was sick for almost 5 days. It's a nasty one. All we have been able to do is check in with the nursing staff to see how he is doing. It's awful not to be able to see him.
