I have a regular large standup ironing board that I use often...then I have the smaller table top ironing board...but I would like something that I can place on a tv tray and sit right by me when i am sewing so I can just turn and press a seam then return to my sewing without having to get up every 2 minutes...

Any ideas?

You can buy a fold up TV tray and "Upholster" it with cotton batting, a layer of insul-bright and a pretty fabric on the very top.

That's a great idea! This is something that I also struggle with. I hate to keep getting up from the sewing machine and go into another room to press seams! I think I may have to try a TV tray!

An ironing board does make a difference! I did not realize that until a couple of weeks ago. My grandmother came to visit and she saw my pitiful, old and rickety ironing board. She is a sewer and said the right equipment makes all the difference. She promptly took me out to buy one of those nice wide ones. Boy, is she right!!! I just love it. I never thought I could love an ironing board like I do this one.

My main ironing board is the nice Rowenta Ironing Board. It is larger than a standard board but not as big as a big board. The only downside to it is that you can't use a normal cover on it (it's the wrong dimensions). So I guess I'm going to have to break down and make a pretty cover for it :)

Oh my gosh, I guess I need some better equipment. Your ironing board sounds just to cool. I will have to defenitely start looking around.

What an AWESOME idea! I would have never thought that. I bet I could find one of those wooden TV trays at the Salvation Army or Goodwill. Since my sewing "room" is a hallway, space is a little limited. I usually have to set the ironing board up in the bedroom and then keep going back and forth.

And the best part about using a TV tray is that it'll fold right up and slip into a corner when not in use. It is also self contained so you don't have to clear off a surface to set up a tabletop ironing board.

Guess I should grabone of the TV trays and d one for myself.....LOL.....I have a ton of ideas but don't always make them for myself LOL

I bought a small table top ironing board a couple of months ago. Its nice and small and folds up too.
I looked around for something smaller but found nothing.

I did find one of those really cute small irons. Just had to get it. Now I need to get one of those clover ones for applique.

I just have a plan old ironing board. It works well and I don't really have room for anything else.

I have just a normal sized ironing board but I have two others that I bought at IKEA; one is a very small version of the larger sized that is maybe 20-25 inches long with legs that fold up and a hook so you can hang it up on a clothing rod in the closet, the other is a flexible one about 40-45 inches long that also has the hook to hang up on a clothing rod and on one side it's black vinyl type material to protect the table or whatever you are using it on and then it's got some sort of padding and the normal fabric you'd see on an ironing board. I love it because I can pull out the tray on my desk and toss that over the tray and use it without getting up. It's great because can be folded up out of the way or hung up in a closet.
