I have the Viking Platinum 855E and use it mostly for quilting. I want to start using it more for embroidery. Also what programs are you using to stitch out your phrases?
Thank you.

Chris,
I have a Bernina 165E and a Brother 620. The Bernina was my first embroidery machine and it got me hooked! For most of the lettering I do, I use Monogram Wizard Plus. MW is a great tool and the quality of the lettering is great.
Welcome to Embroidables! If you have never used one of their designs you must try one! Incredible quality and they stitch out better than the pictures look!

Hello Chris and welcome to Embroidables. I hope you have fun here. We have a great bunch of people here.
I own the Viking Designer 1 machine and would love to purchase the SE but that probably won't happen unless I win the lottery. The software I use is the Viking 4D Embroidery Extra as well. I also own EQ6 although I must admit I know nothing about that software. I am embarrassed to say it's almost a year old now and I have only just installed it in the last three months and still have not gone through all the tutorials. :( I'm bad.

Hi ladies. I have a Brother 8200 - and I use it for both embroidery and for quilting. I totally love the machine, although it is old now. I use the PE Design software and find it works very well.

Chris I have a singer futura at home and at my shop I use a Brother pr620. I would not recommend the futura as a home embroidery machine, it is very sensitive to work with. I love my brother, no problems at all. My favorite software is Monogram Wizard Plus. It is so easy to use with initials , names, or quotes. I also like to quilt. You will find it hard to find time for quilting once you get hooked on embroidery. I haven't combined the two yet but have plans in the near future. There are some cute designs on this website I would like to combine into a baby quilt.

Hi Katie. Could you please give me more details on exactly what the Monogram Wizard Plus is?
Thanks!

I have a Viking Designer SE and love it!! I sewed for many years when I was younger but got out of it when I was working full time (teaching technology) and my children were young. When I retired a few years ago I decided to buy a new machine and get back to sewing--especially since I had 2 grandchildren by that time. Since sewing machines are actually computerized now it was like opening a brand new world for me!! I get to sew as well as still use the technology. Very soon after buying the machine I bought Monogram Wizard Plus. Later I bought Embird. I use all 3 all the time now. I even started a small home-based business. It brings out my creative side.

I also have the Janome MB4. I did have the 350, but let a friend "have" it. She was wanting to start embroidery and it is an awesome machine to learn on.

I had a Bernina Deco 3a50... that was my first machine! Then I had a Snoopy pe-200 and now I have 2 Brother 2003D and they are doing well for me and really would like to upgrade to the Babylock Professional but I will be content with what I have.... maybe someday! Oh those oldies but Goodies! I wish I still had my Deco!

I have just gotten my first combo sewing/embroidery machine - it's a Janome MC11000 SE. For the last 29 yrs I have had the Janome Memory 7. I loved my memory7. So far I really like my new machine. But am wondering what would be a good machine to start my grandaughter on. She's 9 & the only one that is going to teach her to sew would be me! They've always brought all repairs to me to do. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

My 13 year old granddaughter got a sewing machine for Christmas 2 years ago. I just went to Wal-Mart and bought the basic Singer machine. It has been wonderful for her to learn to sew. She has almost completed a quilt top!!! I know that she will be the one to inherit my embroidery machines one day (the mama's do not have the patience (LOL)

Hi Martie,
Welcome to the message board, I love this forum and I'm sure you will too. I don't really know anyone in my area that is interested in machine embroidery so I visit the site nearly every day. It's full of great information and if I can't find an answer to my question someone is sure to have a solution for me. Everyone is so friendly and helpful I'm sure you'll become addicted just like me.

Hi MartieKay ~ welcome to Embroidables. I'm sorry I missed your first post. I hope you will come back and post more and join into some of our other discussions. Congrats on the lack of problems with your machine. It's much more fun when our machines work the way they are supposed to so we can play rather than sit and wait for them to come back from the shop.

Welcome to the site. You're very lucky to have two machines. I'd love to have that although I really DO have a 2nd machine. It's buried in my back room since I got my D1. And then too, I have my 936 serger so I guess I can't pout too heavily. :D
I hope you stick around and join in on some of the conversations around here even if it means you post to an older one. Many times those older ones have info too that some of the newer members don't go back to read so it can't hurt anything if you see an older thread and post to that if you want more info.

New to this message board, but not to this site, I love the designs here!
My Babylock Elegante2 is my embroidery machine and I love it, best thing about it is that it cuts the jump threads for me! LOL
Hope to check in often on this board.

I have the first Babylock Ellure that came out. It is about 9 years old. It works great for me, I use it mainly for embroidery since I purchased a Janome Platinum when a local store went out of business. I would love a new high-end sewing/embroidery machine but it will have to wait for a miracle. My kids think I need a new car -I keep telling them I would buy a new machine first. They don't get it at all...LOL.

Someone recently told me there is a machine made under the Sears or Kenmore name that is a Janome. If you could get it at a good price I think that would be a good machine for someone so you.

I'm sorry but I haven't got a clue about your machine. During your training they didn't cover how to load designs? I would think you should contact them and have them walk through the steps needed to do this. That's normally part of the service included with the machine purchase.

Hi Ladies
I'm new to embroidery and quilting and I have a Brother Duetta 4500D. Love it so far but I'm still trying to learn how to 'really' use it. Right now I just know the basics such as embroidering what is already programmer into it.
I think I have found the right spot to get some help and support!

Welcome Brenda. If you got the machine from a dealer then be sure you take all the classes they offer to you. They will help you trememdously. Have fun.
