I take classes at this shop about 20 minutes from me - it is BEAUTIFUL. It's an old house, that was remodeled, and turned into a quilting shop. Each room of the house is a different color, and has all the fabrics of that color scheme in that room. There's also a Christmas room, an autumn room, a flannel room, and a children's fabrics room. Then there are several rooms with accessories, tools, patterns, threads, etc. and a large work/class room. It's just a fabulous shop, I just LOVE it!
They have about 9000 bolts of fabric :)

My favorite local shop is called Cottonseed Glory. They have a great fabric selection and very friendly staff. It is my local quilt shop and is where I tend to go when I need a fabric fix :)

My favorite shop is the Quilted Cabin, it's in Orland, ME. My mom brought me to the shop and I really wanted to wait in the car, but I came in and fell in love with the quilts there and the owner gave me a lesson on paper piecing right there on the spot. Before this I had no interest in sewing. So I owe the begining of my sewing experiences to that nice woman.

Actually, my favorite fabric shop is www.equilter.com. I know it is not a "shop", but they have the cutest fabrics ever.
I have one shop that I go to about an hour from here, but their prices have gotten so high. Unless it is something really special, I just order on line.

Oh my gosh Mabel! We go to WI almost every year for vacation. There is a campground with a waterpark that my husband and I take the kids to. I am going to have to see where Reedsburg is in relation to that. I can so see taking a day trip by myself and leaving my husband to deal with the kids. Now that's my idea of "vacation" :D

Oh, I forgot to ask, what is the name of the shop? I bet they have a website that I could check out

Where's the campground? I wonder if you'd be near me, we could go together!
It's called Quintessential Quilts - they have the main store in Reedsburg, and then a smaller shop in Baraboo :)

We go to the Jellystone campground in Warren which is north about 80 miles from the Dells. I would love to have you join me!

My favorite local shop is Quilting Adventures in Richmond, Va. Lots of beautiful fabrics, stuff for dollmaking and fabric dying and needlefelting as well. I always run into someone I know there!

Warren is about an hour/hour and a half from me (I'm in the Dells, on the border of the Dells/Delton/Baraboo), so we should definitely plan for that when you go on vacation :)

We don't have any cutesy fabric shops here:( Our only choices are Hancocks, and Wal-Mart.
I keep hoping one will pop up, since we have had two yarn shops open. But no such luck!

If I want interesting cottons I'll drive to Morris, IL to The Fabric Center. I couldn't begin to guess how many bolts of fabric they have, but I get dazed and confused whenever I go there. I change my mind about fabric choices at least 2 or 3 times before making a final decision - one combination is more beautiful than the next. C'mon, admit it. You do that too, don't you???
My favorite shop is called Sew Many Treasures and it is great. It is run by a lady who thought we needed to have a nice, quaint shop. She offers classes and a friend of mine works there and loves it. There is so much to choose from and she has a wonderful selection of quilting fabrics from all kinds of different lines. We are doing a block of the month right now and I absolutely love it. No pressure, just lots of fun.
