I'm doing some embroidery for a friend to make pillows as gifts, but it keep puckering, what to do?

I would try cut away stablizer on a small piece and see how that works.
Make sure you are using a sharp needle vs the ballpoint needles.

Regarding embroidery on silk or any other extra delicate fabric that also has the tendency of shifting while sewing use Fuse and Tear. The brand I have used is sold by the Viking sewing machine dealers. It irons on the wrong side of the fabric and at the same time when you hoop it protects the fabric. After embroidery the excess tears off. If embroidery design is digitized correctly you will only need one layer of stabilizer.
