Is anyone planning to do any shopping on black Friday? I know my sister is going to camp out at Best Buy for a $200 lap top. I did all my shopping on Wed so I'm not going out again with all those crowds. The savings aren't that much better for the items I purchased.

No Way No How! I avoid Black Friday shopping like the plague LOL

I will hopefully sleep in and then spend the rest of the day in the sewing room :)

I have 15 nametags to embroider and assemble before December 6th so I may work on stitching those out while I sew.

Not planning to, but may venture out late tomorrow to look for a Christmas tree. I can't take those crowds anymore.

I was planning on sleeping in, but then my little sister called this afternoon and asked me to go to Home Depot for her. They have a tool set that is a really good but, but each person can only get one. She wants to give one to our brother and one to her son for Christmas. Man, the stuff we do for family.

I'm just glad that none of my family likes to shop on Black Friday. The last time I did Black Friday shopping was 3 years ago. Hubby and I went out at 6am to buy my wedding ring. We knew we had to do it then because the wedding was on the following New Years Day.

You are a good sister to go with her to get another tool set for her :)

What a way to bring in the new year! Mine proposed to me at the stroke of midnight and we got married the following June.

I wish my sister was going to going with me. Unfortunatley, I live several hours away from my family. She is going to go to the Home Depot in her town and I am going to go to the one here. I really miss my family, especially my sisters. I think I they lived around me, I would be able to successfully hook one of them on sewing and then I would have a sewing buddy. :(

We had alot of fun! My hubby proposed to me on Christmas Day the year before and i was sick as a DOG! LOL

We flew his parents and my mom and daughter to Las Vegas and got married on New Years Day a year and a week after getting engaged. What fun that trip was!

You are a good sister and I'm sure you do miss your family. I can't imagine not living near my mom.

Just got home - I'm pooped!

It was crazy! I did not even plan on going out this morning, but then my sister asked me if I would go to Home Depot for her so I agreed. Silly me, figured since I was getting up early anyway, what was another hour? I looked at the Toys R US ad and saw there were several things that I wanted to get for the kids and they opened at 5, an hour earlier than Home Depot. I figured both of them are on the same side of town, I could run by Toys and be out of there in an hour, swing over to Home Depot at 6 and be back home in bed by 7.

Did I mention how silly I was? I got to Toys R Us ar 4:45 and there was a line at least 1/8 mile long outside the door. No Joke!!! For toys! I almost went home and then then thought I would have to drive all the way back home on the other side of town, just to have to do it again in an hour, so I joined the line. When they opened the doors at 5:03, yes I looked at my watch, they were late, only about 3/4 of the line got in before they got full, then it was a one for one. Fortunately I did not have to wait too long. Then checking out was another complete nightmare. Wrapped around the entire perimeter of the store!

Just my luck, my short trip to Toys R Us did not end until 6:45, and guess what? Home Depot was sold out of the thing my sister wanted me to go out for in the first place! What's even worse is that I have to tell her! Hey Johnny, how's the weather in Maine right now? I have a sudden urge to move far away from here.

That's what I hate about those really great price items that they advertise heavily and then get a very limited quantity and sell out immediately! I guess that's how they get people in the door but it looks more like bait and switch to me

i went to get the morning paper and mail at around 3 in the afternoon --said to my self there is nothing i need that i would have to or want to go out for --also the canadian dollar is worth more than ours right now so the canadians come in droves by bus and carvans they get uo at 2 am to make the 4 hour trip to our malls in bangor ! so to the mail box and back fot me today total one mile !:)

John and Joy - Are you guys pretty close to Bangor? I have a good friend who lives just outside Bangor. He works out at the Airbase there. My husband and I flew out there a couple of years ago to visit. We both fell in love with Maine. I think we could live there, but Alan (our friend) says the winters are pretty tough. It is so beautiful there I think I would be willing to try it.

We went to Walmart, Kohls, and the Disney Store. I got almost all my shopping for my son's Christmas done, but I'm not sure it was worth it, as now I've been tired all day.

I thought about it but I've gone most of my shopping done. I would just be buying for myself which I do all the time anyways!
I get stressed just thinking about fighting the people getting the deals!

We went, and it was fun!!

We went to Wal-mart, Target, Academy Sports, The Mall, and then around noon to Applebees for a perfect margarita!

I got fleece blankets to monogram for my kids teachers for very little, and I got a pair of shoes I have been wanting for 6.50! Not to mention, I got a good bit of my boys christmas done!

It was a good day! I spent all day today though, relaxing, and wrapping gifts, haha!

I am NUTS, I worked at my husband's jewlery store in an outlet mall that opened at midnight. At 5pm I got off work and went straight to Wal-mart and bought a shop-vac and a tonka truck. Then I crashed at a coworkers house for a few hours then got up and went back to the jewlery store and worked from 3pm till 10pm. I was wiped out. You should have seen the people running into that outlet mall when they opened it up to the public. It was like a scene from a movie.. a crowd of people screaming and running.

My SIL laughed at me when I moaned about how early I got up on Friday - I guess she'd been out shopping for an hour by the time I opened my eyes LOL!
