I am originally from New York City so I love NY style pizza and I make a respectable one at home; but I love Chicago Deep Dish pizza as well! I have been looking for a crust recipe (have tried Emeril's and Bobby Flay's) without much success (my favorite place in Chicago is Giordano's) . Does anyone have a tried and true recipe that they would be willing to share?

Katie ~ I honestly do not have that recipe but, I did a quick search for Giordano's pizza recipe and found this. It looks like it might be worth another shot for you to try. Personally I would not mess around with the chefs from the Food Network when looking for a recipe like a restaurant because they all tend to put their own spin on their recipes. That's what I've always seen from my experience anyway.

Check this one out. It looks like a great recipe.

Thanks so much Vicki! One of my best friends will be visiting this weekend,
we both had Chicago pizza for the first time together and it holds some great
memories (hysterical to be exact) I think I will give it a shot when he comes down.

You're welcome. I did check a few other recipes out but this one really looks like the best shot for you to try. Good luck. You'll have to let me know how this one turns out since I think you will be attempting it before I will.

It sounds so good, I'm trying it too. Friday is Pizza night at our house (always homemade) and I think this will be a hit!

Thanks Vicki!!

Now I am on a search for the pan! I knew we moved it with us, but I haven't used it since we moved in (that's just about 2 years ago!) Hmm, this might require a shopping trip to get a new one:p

You really don't have to make pizzas round. ;) I have always used my Wilton cake pans since I used to do cake decorating so I have a 1/4 sheet size pan and then one that is almost a half sheet pan size. Any pan will work as long as the sides are a little higher. If you own a lasagna pan that would be excellent to use. I don't even own one of those myself though. You could even use a small roasting pan since that has a higher side than a cake pan.
