I used the Tipsy font in Monogram Wizard Alpha pack #12. I have used that font millions of times, so it was a very good investment for me. It is perfect for the candy cane font.

I love doing aprons!

I have made a few for adults, but only two for kids!

I need to make some of me and my boys, as the ones in our kitchen are fall colored.

I love that candy cane font. My boss has the towels that I put HO HO HO on hanging in her store. Today a photographer came in to take a picture for our next advertisement, and she had the towels prominently displayed. :D

OOh very cool. If the pic ends up in print, you'll have to scan and post so Jami can see.

Will do Vicki - of course, it won't actually be a photo, but it will be a drawing of the photo. It will be in next Fridays paper, so I'll try to scan it in and post it.

Hi Sew, I got that AlphaPak, too. It's a good one. Moderating the Monogram Wizard Yahoo group has me looking at their things all the time. I got to over 100 posts, and with my store credit in hand, I am looking at that Candy Cane font that you used so charmingly.

Congrats on getting your work photographed. You deserve it!

I thought your name seemed familiar! I belong to your group, but have yet to introduce myself. Have been a lurker. I love seeing all of your work. maybe I will get over there and introduce myself sometime! It was thanks to you all that I even looked at the AlphaPaks and even knew what they were. So thank you!:)

This is very cute and it is almost time again to start making Christmas things. I can not wait. It would also be cute as a monnogram for a tree skirt, or as a table cloth. It is very cute, thanks for sharing.

I just purchased that candy cane font and I can't get enough of it. I have played with it for a week. It stitches out beautifully. I have been making handtowels (red, green, and white) with monograms. Of course, I change the color of the font from white and red to white and green on the red towels and it looks great(if I do brag on myself a wee bit),I also trim the towels with coordinating rick rack colors. They are making great gifts. I am in the process of making one for all of my fellow fourth grade teachers. I am having a hard time finding christmas red and green hand towels at an affordable price. Anyone got any suggestions.

I bought a set of three waffle weave green and red kitchen handtowels from TJMaxx for $4.99. Not sure where to find bath handtowels. They might have some there, too.

Keep your eyes out for Kohl's. I am sitting here with a ton of red and green hand towels and wash cloths myself which were bought from their clearance areas last year after the holidays. They are really nice, thick towels too so they'd make really nice gifts.

Hmmmm.......And we just got a Kohl's in the area. Might have to keep my eyes open for the big sales.

You should keep an eye out on the clearance part of their website Diana. You would NOT believe the awesome buys I have gotten from there for my granddaughter. It's usually off season stuff so I have to think ahead to be sure and buy a larger size so she can wear them once that season comes but WOW have I bought some nice stuff. As an example, I just gave them in August the absolute cutest faux fur little jacket, red velvet dress and matching leggings that I got from the clearance area at the beginning of summer. I think the regular price on all three pieces ran somewhere near $65 and I spent a total of only about $12 AND used a free shipping coupon I'd found online. Because I have a credit card there I get some nice coupons and they are good for use on clearance and sale things as well as regular priced items. I usually buy the clearance stuff using those and get those things for an extremely cheap price. :D

Vicki,
thanks for the insight. I'll keep my eyes open. We don't have much for seasons down here. Usually just HOT and Hotter, although we've had a few weeks of "cold fronts" (55 average), and I hate it. I was born to be rich and live in tropical weather. Well.............1 out of 2 isn't bad.

StitchinGrandma
12-01-2008, 06:44 AM
Too funny Diana. I'm guessing you got the tropical part eh? LOL HA! Cold front at 55 degrees? OH that makes me laugh considering we just got 4 inches of snow and now freezing rain or rain and it's only 27 degrees outside.

Vicki,
You must have ESP. of course it's the tropical part. But, if only I could win the lottery. hah..........I'd have to play first, and since I'm broke that kinda decides that one. I must have been born to work.
I am also one of those people that is looking for a place to put the Christmas tree. Either my house is getting smaller, our my stuff is getting bigger. What do you think.
4 inches of snow!!!!!!! I think it's beautiful to LOOK at, but I can't figure out how "such a fluffy person" could be cold all the time. (I actually have a small heater under my desk again today). Guess I better never move out of South Florida.

I have always wanted snow for Christmas!!! There is something so magical when I look at all the movies or pictures with the houses decorated and snow outside. Of course, I want to keep my heat and electricity. I just want to stay inside in the warm, sipping hot chocolate or coffee, snuggled in front of the fireplace with a roaring fire - and my dog asleep beside me while I watch movies! (LOL) NOW - does that sound like a dreamland or what????

I'm going to win that lottery silly. You may as well stop spending your money on the tickets. :p And I think you are becoming the packrat I seem to be. WHY is it so hard to get rid of stuff?? They say to put things into a box you are thinking of getting rid of and if you haven't retrieved anything from that box in a year you are supposed to pick it up and throw it away without looking. I just CANNOT do that. I'm good at putting things into that box but when it comes time to toss it all? NO WAY! I MUST look and see what I haven't used and then I reinvent new uses for it and why I need to keep it.

Come on up and visit me if you want snow. We got just under 5 inches Sunday into Monday morning and were just a few minutes ago put under a new winter watch advisory with the expectation of another 3-5 inches by tomorrow night. Wheeeeee I just LOOOOVE WINTER! NOT!

You are MORE than welcome to come get it! I do not like this stuff at all unless it's on the weekend and I don't have to worry about hubby driving in it. Actually tomorrow isn't too bad since he's off work because it's his birthday. BUT, my son who's lived in FL for the past few years and probably has forgotten how to drive on icy roads does have to go to work tomorrow night. :(

So sorry for your son but do with your hubby a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! You - my dear lady - stay INSIDE!!!

StitchinGrandma
12-02-2008, 06:42 PM
I shall TRY to stay inside and truthfully with my knees I generally do not go outside during the winter unless hubby is with me so I can hold his arm. If I fell the right way, either onto one of my knees or hitting my head I'd be headed to the ER to be checked for internal bleeding because of the coumadin and if directly onto my knee, it would surely mean surgery as bad as they both are. NO thank you.

No problem Diana. I'm not going anywhere that I know of. Thank you both for the birthday wishes for hubby. I'll let him know. I know he's registered here but am not sure he wanders around at all so he may not see them. ;)
