Ohh very pretty. That's such a great idea too. WHY had I never thought about making ornaments using your designs???
AND I had totally forgotten the special sales part of the 12 days of Christmas. DUH. I hope everyone is seeing these and don't miss the sales specials each day.

Can anyone tell us what type of scent is used in the sachets? Is it an oil put onto cotton balls? How much? I made a sachet a few years ago and used fresh lavender, but it had very little scent.

I checked with Carol Anne and she directed me to this website (http://lapazfarm.homeschooljournal.net/2008/01/18/kid-crafts-spicy-winter-sachet/). She said she left out the evergreen and dried everything really well ahead of time. I suppose if you wanted them to last longer and not be scented you could just fill them with batting.

Want a sneak peek at tomorrow's project? It's brought to you by moi! And, yes, that's really my desk at the moment...scary isn't it? I find I create best in a mess, but once I'm done it's back to very clean and tidy! ;)

Grace,
Jami will be posting 12 projects that have a Christmas theme. (Some of the projects will be from other members and others Jami created. Jami asked for these to be emailed to her rather then posted on the site). In order for us to be able to replicate these projects Jami gives a % off the featured designs for a limited time.
The projects, I believe, are to give us all some added inspiration! Hope my understanding of the "12 Days of Christmas" makes sense:)

It looks like the edges of those sachets are crocheted? That's got the wheels spinning in my head! I love looking forward to seeing new Christmas projects each day! It's nice that it's happening well enough in advance for Christmas so there is plenty of time to sew and think about sewing.

Ahhh, thanks! I think she's pretty cute myself! :) It's actually her little personality that makes her even cuter, though. I'd post more pictures of her running around in it, but they are all blurry from her not holding still. Seriously, out of 36 shots, this is the best. Silly girl!

Well Jami, as sad as this might sound, it's the truth.... YOU have a life. I have no kids under my feet wanting my attention all day long, I am not running a business as well as digitizing designs for your fans, and still running kids to soccer or whatever else either. I think you might have a pretty good excuse. ACK! I am SOOOOOOOOOOO beyond ready to get this stupid cast off! Not onlt am I down one typing hand but apparently taking one hand away like this has also taken half of my spelling knowledge away as well. I CANNOT type fast OR correctly the past few days. ugh
Soooooo anyway, I LOVE the towels posted for day 3. Thank you for using another set I had already purchased so I don't have to whine to hubby about wanting to buy another set of designs. :p
ANYONE who hasn't bought today's 12 days of Christmas special set run now and get those. SUPER quick stitching and super cute too for quick gifts to give teachers or hostesses etc.

Well Jami has it right now and If I remember it was about 24 inches across and maybe 36 inches long??? I just started putting it together...LOL
I found the idea through a blog SEW MAMA SEW... and Jami said I can share it, I made mine a little different. http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/?p=863 I used a Colorful Christmas Charm pack and Kona Solids to match to make the pockets and used 1 or 1 1/2 in strips in between and used a decoritive stitch on the white to quilt it. It was SEW MUCH fun putting all the fabrics together... I really like this collection of designs! I REALLY like Matching FABRIC with Jami's designs! If you have any more questions... please ask!

Welcome. All you need to do is watch this thread each day for a new post done by Jami. There is no set time of the day when she posts so you just need to check back or subscribe to that thread to get an email letting you know she's posted. The first post explains what happens each day.

Jami today's post from you is awesome. I am going to need to go back and see if I was a subscriber to that magazine at that time. I have a feeling that I might not have been though. That's such a great project.
Thanks, Vicki. Even if you were a subscriber, you might not have it. I think their special issues are sold seperately. And, sadly, I don't even see it available for sale on their website. I am going to try and make the images larger so you can read them easier.

Confession time. I couldn't wait until Christmas to give Logan his case so he helped me put it together today. It was so fun to work with him. That was his first time really showing interest in sewing and he loved it!
Now, I've got orders to make two more for the other two boys...and they want them done TONIGHT!! Good thing they are so easy and fast. I think I'll make them a bit different though and they get to pick out the designs. I'll be sure to post pictures when they are finished....which WON'T be tonight.

This morning I woke up to find Logan sitting in my studio admiring his case. Then the first thing Cameron asked me when he woke up was if his case was finished yet? I didn't like having to disappoint him. :( But, I don't like disappointing you all either, so more fun 12 Days of Christmas projects took priority last night. :)

Jami, did you use felt for the embroidery on the pretzel bags? If so, how did you keep the embroidery from sinking into the fabric?
I realize there are quite a few "how-to" questions about the different projects and I promise I will get to them all soon. I've also got 13 new embroidery collections waiting patiently to be stitched out. :) So, as I'm stitching, I'll post answers and instructions to some of the projects.
In the meantime, Debbie, I didn't do anything special to my felt to keep it from sinking in. I use felt A LOT (love it) and haven't ever had that problem. I also am big on not pulling my fabric super taut after hooping it as it can cause the fabric to wrinkle around the edges after stitching. You want to be sure everything is tight and secure, but that can be done without unnecessary yanking. I hope that helps.

Jami -
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all the 12 Days of Christmas projects. Is so hard to decide which one to start with. However, since I am the ultimate Dolly Mama design fan, I would LOVE (can I really use that word too much?) the instrutions for this project. I have a ton of girlfriends that this would be a perfect gift for, not only Christmas, but birthday, dinners or just because. Whenever you have a chance to post the instructions, I would be most grateful. Thank you for all your hard work and FANTASTIC site.
