View Full Version : My "prom" dress!
This is the dress I made for my barrister's ball (law school prom). I am the one in the middle. It is all marie antionnette looking (but the pocket hoops make my hips look huge..hehe) I love this dress!

Whatever type will pay off my student loans the quickest.

I would actually like to get involved with a Legal Aid program local to me. I live in a pretty rural area with a low average income and not a lot of options for people seeking non-criminal legal help (lawsuits, divorce, and such) But it all depends on how much money I can live on and still pay the mortgage...and if I pass the Bar Exam!

Too funny. My son is in his final year at the university and wants to go to law school. He's looking at wanting to do law in the schools somehow to help get laws to help the kids get better advantages in the lower income ranges. Our own district he went to has about a 45% low-average income range and they had barely anything for the kids to do as far as foreign languages and other things that would help them in their university/college schooling.
Good luck on the bar exam when the time comes. I know that's a tough one. My father was a lawyer for years and was appointed to the bench so he retired as a judge after doing that for over 20 yrs.

omg, your dress is gorgeous.
Thankee-I was more impressed by my hair--I am notoriously not a "hair person" most people asked if it was real at the party.

Cool dress, and really fun going to a Law School prom! How long till you complete law school? I thought about going at one time, but just could not fit it into my life then, and now... well, it is out of the question. Good luck!

Good luck Jen! Please, if you have ANY good places to apply for scholarships forward those to me. My son hasn't got a clue and needs help with funding him going to law school next year. Thanks

I'm a litigator, but our school did not have a barrister's ball. I'm a little old for "prom" anyway, but your dress is absolutely wonderful. Give me a quick email if you have any questions about the bar, survival mechanisms, etc.

Congrats on Law school. I love your dress and you look very beautiful. I didn't go to prom (many years ago) and I wish I had, but then again it was the 70's. Thank you for sharing!!!
