OH you are too funny! I haven't done a thing to start for the holiday sewing. I am great at making lists of what I want to make but getting me OFF my computer is another challenge I need to overcome. :p Maybe I need to join another group on the 'net for message boards anonymous or something. HA Oh wait. That won't help me get off the computer will it? hehe

I was laughing all the way through your post, Vicki. I'm sure many of us can relate to your mb anonymous. I also wanted to say how darling the baby in your picture is...what a cutie.

In regards to ideas for boy's gifts...what age are you searching for, dramaw?

Probably nothing new to ya'll veterans, but as a newbie, I am embroidering Soft Plush Throws for Christmas. These are great for adults and kids too! I usually embroider the name with a design above or below that matches that person's personality. Everyone loves them as they are so soft. I buy these at Ollie's for $7.99. I've seen the same brands, etc. in other stores starting at $20. They come in many colors. I have two sons that are usually too cool for anything. They are getting black ones with their names in old english and something piratey on them. We will see how they go over. These boys are the true test. :D

Personally, I dont think there is such a thing as too many quilts when they are made with love. My children have so many that my mom has made for them. We all treasure them!!

Ohhhh I've sure started my To-Do List, but I haven't gotten off my duff to actually make anything on that list come to fruition. I do this every year...make this big list of things I'm going to make for gifts, then realize I have SO much time (!) to get it done, so I put it off. Then December 21 rolls around and I realize I seem to be missing a few things off the list. Like, ALL of it.

Then I go buy books and wrap them. :D

No seriously, I don't wait that long. I usually start busting my hump around now-ish. I can't handle the stress of 'down to the wire'.

I have started my Christmas stitching, but who knows if I will ever get finished... I have tons left to do, and this little baby boy that I am carrying was supposed to be coming on Jan. 1, but the Dr. is now saying that Thanksgiving is probably when it is going to happen... His exact words were "you seem to cook them at a higher temperature, so your babies get done a little faster than most." So....... if he shows up at Thanksgiving, I may not ever get finished this year.

Good luck to all who are working on things for Christmas!!!

HA! You just explained ME! ROFLMAO! I've been jotting things down as I save designs and/or projects all year and then making notes next to them who they would be good for. I finally called it quits about Dec 17th last year when we had a guest from out of state come to stay a few days with us. I still have two major projects that were supposed to be gifts last year that I MUST get done.

My biggest problem now is that my MIL had a mastectomy this year after finding out she had a very rapid growing growth. In just a few weeks it grew from nothing to the size of an egg when it was removed. Chemo made all her hair fall out after the very first time and I STILL haven't made her any chemo hats or dew rags to wear. I'm bad and it makes me mad. I have had some health problems myself but I'm still angry at myself for not working on them and now we're headed there in three weeks and I have to take a bunch with me for her. I have one cut out. UGH

Good luck with the Thanksgiving baby. My last was suppose to be a Halloween baby, but he had other plans and showed up earlier. Holiday babies are such fun, but it does make for a stressful season when you have to mix in bday parties in all the Holiday stuff. I have 2 birthday parties to get through for my kiddos in the next week and a half.

That is funny that you would say that... my hubby and I were seriously planning on hosting Thanksgiving this year and inviting both sides of the family. We even told everyone at Christmas last year that we were going to... well, NOT! My house is a mess, my projects are piling up, I feel like an elephant and if I have a new baby in the house, I just could not handle all the relatives. So we had to let everyone know we had rethought our idea since last year.

FYI - we wanted to have another baby, but were very surprised when we got pregnant the 1st time at bat!

When you are viewing the different posts look in the lower right corner.... see that button "quote"? Click that and it will open new window to post and you'll see the wording from the post that you clicked on. You will see [] <-- brackets like that and inside will be quote= and the name of the person you are quoting along with thier post. At the end of their original post you'll then see the brackets again [] and inside /quote which means "end quote" when it's inside those brackets. Scroll down to the below that and you can answer their post.

Make sense?

The button next to the quote is very cool too. (it has a quote and a plus sign on it) That button is called "Multi-quote" It allows you to quote many posts at the same time. Clicking that button in each post you want to quote will turn that button orange in color and answer and then the very bottom left side button "post reply" will open a new window with all those you clicked on so you can answer each one. Just be sure to post after the /quote of each post or you will type inside their original posts.

My kids when younger, they got so upset with me because I never gave them what they wanted for Christmas...I gave them what I wanted to have...Every year they made a list for Santa and they had everything in the world listed on there, so it was very difficult for me to find something not on the list...LOL

But I thought gifts were suppose to be a surprise,,,not something you asked for...I have learned,,,now they tell me and I go get it...I wonder why they don't get it for themselves,,,there is no surprise.

I can't start on my Christmas gifts until after I finish a couple of customer projects. I really should be making a duvet cover right now instead of chatting, but this is so much more enjoyable. :p

I do need to get started soon though. I'm hosting a German girl for the school year and I need to get a package of things done to send to her parents for Christmas. I plan on sending them a whole bunch of Texas items so that when Theresa goes home, she'll see the things and remember us. :)

Hopefully I'll be able to get started by the end of this week.

Isn't it fun to find things like that? My room is very organized so unless I put it into my scrap bin I have I most likely won't lose stuff like that hopefully. We've remodelled my entire room this year though so I'm still trying to get stuff back to where it all belongs. Until then, yea, I might find things I hadn't thought I had. :D

My problem is that just when I think I have everything almost caught up I think of just a "few more" cute things I could make. Then I run out and get the supplies for it all and that means more projects and project stuff laying around. At this rate I will never be done. I may have to pull a few sewing all nighters.

Sometimes you just gotta do it. Look at the amount of time you spend searching for things each time you want to sew for a week. Then add up that time. You'd be surprised how much time that actually is when you could probably use the amount of time searching from three days and just get it all cleaned up. Then when you want to sew you can and don't get disappointed when you have to search for stuff. :D

We have no kids in the house any longer but, when they were here we solved that problem real quickly. My husband built all four kids their own computers. :D And then we loaded spy software on them all so we could log onto them and keep an eye on what they were doing.
