Merry Christmas to you and your family too Heather. Safe travels, especially with that fog we've got. YUCK! We just arrived home from Bloomington and the drive down and back was not the best driving conditions. Coming back it was getting near dark so the visibility was really going downhill quickly because of the darkness.

Oh, Vicki, thanks! We made it to SW Iowa- all but about 30 min of the nearly 6 hour drive was through various thicknesses of fog. NOT a relaxing drive.... and now they're talking about this HUGE snowstorm in eastern Iowa that will hit late tomorrow.... We don't leave here until MOnday, so hopefully the roads will be fine by then.
I ADORE B'ton! I went to Illinois Wesleyan, as did my younger sister, and she lives there still. We're down there about once per month or so... Glad you got back safely!

I know that fog was bad. We drove in that for a total of about 7 hrs today. It was bad for the entire day from the time we got up. UGH
Yes, I'm getting nervous about the storm. I'm surprised you are saying SNOWstorm though. They said on our weather tonight that they have upped the forecast to 3-7inches of snow but it will start with hours of sleet, rain, freezing rain in all combinations and that closer to the IL/Iowa border along the Mississippi river there will be a possibilty of 1/4-1/2 inch of ice. ACK! My oldest, his fiancee, and our granddaughter are coming for Christmas from Galesburg so they'll have to drive through all of that.

Vicki and Heather, I'm up in Wisconsin on Lake Michigan, and it's thick and dangerous up here, too. Hope everyone makes it to their destination safely. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it.

I sure hope everyone's to their desitnation soon today, if not already if they are near here. The freezing rain is supposed to be starting very soon. :( I just hope those on the interstate slow down once it does. There's always terrible accidents near us out there on the interstate.

Yes, my tree is down and already at the park where they recycle. Last year, our tree remained in our backyard, propped agains another still living tree, until after the snow in April. We put the last of the decorations away today.

well, that is good. We just started dissassembling our tree today. We went 'permanent' (as opposed to artificial trees...they call them permanent trees) a few years agon. That way I can manage it all at my own pace and not create a fire hazard.

Ha! Very funny Vicki!! I know someone that, when she built her house, had a special closet built for the Christmas tree. She rolls it in and out in no time. I am sure that if I had that closet, by Christmas the tree would be buried deep behind all sorts of other stuff (fabric, perhaps??) that I needed a place for.

I've heard of people that hate taking them down so badly they leave them up all year long and just change the decorations. HA! I was told ours would be taken down a week ago and yet, it's still there. I was contemplating making paper hearts and decorating it in another week and see if that worked to see it go away. hehe
