Shanda, have you ever seen Brett Favre in Hattiesburg? I live an hour south of Green Bay, and am a big fan of his. I'm still not over being mad with the Green Bay management! There are a lot of fans who are still livid with them. It's just un-American to have Brett playing with the jets!

idesign,
I am mad too that he left Green Bay! We did see him often during the off season because my son and his daughter go to the same school. He would just walk her up to the classroom just like any other dad. Kinda neat though. Good luck to Green Bay this year, I will miss watching them all the time.

Lorie,
Rain aLL summer......how horrible. We have just the opposite (sorta), I live in Southeast Florida, it usually is about 95-98 degrees and it usually rains in the afternoon. But a FL afternoon rain could last 5 minutes or an hour. Our latest has been dodging hurricanes. I pray the people in the Gulf, but am thankful it isn't here. We took a direct hit with Hurricane Wilma and I don't wish that on anyone.
I'm sorry to hear about your Breast Cancer fight, but glad you are winning it. The effect of the drugs will wear off soon and you can get back to cutting the fabric. I will keep you in my prayers. (love the forum name).

It looks like you might be saying hello to the members you are seeing in the who's online area but you might not understand how this board works. When someone is listed as being "online" it doesn't mean they are even on the message board. When a customer registers and then comes to the site to view designs for sale, they will show as being online. Many of the customers don't use message boards so they may not see a welcome if you post it here. Thought you might like to know this. ;)

Hi everyone!
My name is Donna. I'm 22 and have been sewing for just over a year now. I have a 16 month old little boy and I'm due with my second boy in January. My hubby is a Marine getting ready to deploy again. Since he'll be gone he is supportive of me finding things to do to stay busy, so he's letting me buy an embroidery machine next week. Yay me! I plan to make all kinds of cute baby things in the next few months.
Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you all.

Wow. How exciting about hubby letting you buy an embroidery machine. I'm sure you will be busy between that active 16 month old, being pregnant, and trying to learn the machine. I know you will miss your hubby but, hopefully the time will go fast with all you are going to have keeping you busy.
What machine have you decided to get or haven't you chosen one yet?

I'll be buying a Singer Futura CE-250. I know it's best to buy from the dealer, but I've been finding much better deals online... and a Singer warranty center is only 3 miles from my house, so I figure I won't have to spend a fortune on shipping if things go wrong. :D

Double-check with the warranty center that they are going to help you if you purchase online. But, if that's an actual warranty center and not a dealer you may be ok. I think I'd still call and check with them first though.
Good luck. You'll have fun with your machine I'm sure.

Congrat's Donna on the purchase of a new machine!! I know the feeling and how exciting it is....what is the sewing field on that machine? because before you know it you'll be hooked and if it's too small 4X4 you will want too upgrade before you know it....lol Is this your first embroidery machine? I can't wait for my kids (two 27 year olds) to start having babies so I can embroider for babies. Lorie

Thanks for the welcome, Lorie! Yes, it's my first embroidery machine. I believe it is a 4.50" x 6.75". I had considered a brother earlier this year that had a 4x4, and then realized I'd end up spending a lot of money on software and extras, and that the hoop would be too small to do names.
StitchinGrandma, I'll be sure to call Singer to double check before I buy it. But the place I'll be buying it an authorized e-tailer, and yeah, the place close to my house is a warranty center. It's on the list of warranty centers on singer's site. But it never hurts to double check and I'd rather make sure there would be no problem in advance than to not look into it and then have issues. :)

A great place for shirts and sweatshirts is imprintswholesale.com . Just be sure that when picking the items, pick them all from the same warehouse... it saves on shipping

From what I can see on that website you're going to need to be a business with a tax ID number in order to purchase items from them. I doubt most of us here will have those as we are doing this as a hobby for the most part. That's too bad since they have some nice things on their site for tote bags and other stuff.
Welcome to the message board ~ or at least to you posting now since you said you found this site a year ago and are just now starting to say hi. ;) Come back and join in more often now that you'll be home more often.

Welcome Cheryl. You'll get the hang of things soon. And you already have half the battle won since you can reply. LOL
This will take you to the main page (http://www.embroidables.com/forums/index.php?)on the forum where you will see the different sub-forums. Clicking any of those which might apply to a new thread you want to create will take you then to a list of the different threads which have been created in the past. At the very top left of that page you will see "New Topic" pink button. When you click that you will need to give your new topic(thread) a title and then you will type into the box whatever you want to post. Once you are done, near the bottom is a place to click which says "Submit new thread"
This area will give you some help in how to do other things here. At the top is another section to click with tutorials on how to post pictures and then below that are more threads with help. David has been creating videos which you will be able to watch as well to give you additional help.
Hopefully this will help you get started.

My name is Teresa and have been doing embroidery since 2000.My first embroidery machine was Babylocke Esante ESe-2 which I loved very much. My next embroidery sewing machine is a Brother Innovis 4000d. I have been ditizering for years. I have a Pe-Design 7 and Embird each one has it things from them that I liked. I was previously a member, but when my computer crashed last year, I lost all of my favorites and it has taken me nearly 9 months to find you again :) It is one of the drawbacks in using a favorites list and since I could not remember my original sign-in I just re-joined! One message that I would like to share with everyone here...make sure you back-up your computer from time to time. I lost nearly 5,000 designs, many I had digitized myself.

OUCH! Yes, backup. I'm amazed at how many don't do this regularly or at all even.
Next time ~ which hopefully won't EVER come........ if you lose the site just do a search for Dolly Mama's and it should come up for you very easily. ;)

Sorry to hear about your computer crash. As long as you are still using your same email address for your account as what you used when you made your purchases, you can redownload any of your past purchases from us by clicking on the "Download Center" link in the left hand menu. If for any reason your previous purchases don't appear there, just let us know and we can track them down for you. Welcome back to the site BTW :)

I am kathy and live in Berlin, Maryland (20 minutes to Ocean City). Electical fire destroyed my home and everything in it. So I am starting from scratch. Right now my sewing is a small plastic bag with needle and thread. Ha ha.
I go today and order my new embroidery machine:elefant: So I am like a kid at christmas. I found this site and just love the designs. So I am starting out a new collection of designs with the Dolly Mama sets. They are fantastic. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed digitizing and sewing with my embroidery machine until I started browsing this site.
Looks like I have found a top of the line embroidery site to call home. All of the designers have beautiful pieces. So a little at a time I will have a nice library to choose from to make new lap quilts and goodies for my new home and neck scarves for Luci (my pup). I don't think my rescue cats would appreciate outfits but pillows for their naps would be acceptable. :)
Not sure how this site works on posting and replys. But Hello to all and I love it here.

Welcome!!!! I am sorry to hear about your fire. But am glad that you are getting a new machine! What type of machine are you going to get? There are so many wonderful friends here and Jami and David are the Best. Their designs are wonderful and they have GREAT customer service. They are normal people like the rest of us (LOL) Since you have been embroidering and digitizing for awhile you can probably help some of us like me!!!! Stay in touch often and you are right about this being a top of the line embroidery site. "Welcome Home"

I just can't imagine losing everything from a fire or anything like that. It has to be devastating emotionally to you. I'm happy you are getting a new machine and will be able to start stocking up on your things you lost.
Yes, you have found an awesome site here! Jami and David are wonderful and you'll love being here as the members are all really great at sharing their ideas and how they made them. You will catch on how to get around here soon enough.
I did move your post (and reply done to you) to this thread so that other members would see our newest member.

Hi! My name is Lisa and I am new to the embroidery world. I have a little girl and I am excited about being able to make some things for her. I have had my machine for about a year, but I just recently started learning how to use it (I still have so much more to learn, lol). My machine is a Pfaff 2144, turned 2170.

Welcome Lisa! Glad to see you have found us in our little world. Jami has some awesome designs which are perfect for cute little girl things. I'm sure you have already made a huge wish list just like most of us have. :D Stick around and join in on the threads we have and if you haven't seen them yet, in some of the design sets are free sample designs you can download so make sure and get all of those. Check out the monthly contest Jami and David are so wonderful to give to us and the awesome prizes we can win. If you enter the only rule is that any embroidery done on your contest entry must be an Embroidables design and only those with the exception of text you have created yourself. And you can enter using the free designs which is VERY nice since not all contests I've seen allow you to use only free designs.

Hello my name is Verna Joy and I live in Morgan City LA. I have 3 children, 30,27 (tomorrow) and 16. We are also raising our soon to be 11 yr. old grandson.
I love embroidering. I have a "small" buisness and do craft shows. I love the ideas you have on this message board. Last night was the first time I got on and looked around and went to bed at 3:00 this morning. I couldn't get enough. I ordered my first two designs a little while ago. Can't wait to get started doing some projects.

Hello every embroidery and craft addict, My name is Trish and I just love being able to blog with others about our addiction. At the moment I am making bibs and burp clothes for our families newest addition that will be born the 1st of June. I am also involved in making an adorable embroidered Flower Girl dress for a friends wedding in May. I am very busy and love it, my artistic juices are flowing heavily. Another friend is having a wedding in October of this year so my talents are used there as well. And a friend is having a baby shower in April, so of course I am making a lot of baby embroidered gifts and shower favors. I am married of 13 yrs to a wonderful man that is having a total knee replacement March 22nd, he keeps me hoppin all the time. And my 76 yr old father lives with us as well. Needless to say my days are packed full, but I always find time for my projects I love..they are my escape from every day life and I get absorbed so much I forget to eat or sleep. Thank you embroidables.com for having a fantastic site so we can share our time and ideas with each other and of course if we have a problem we might need help with anything.
Sincerely your fellow embroidery friend,

Hello Trish and welcome to Embroidables. You do sound very busy. I wish your husband all the luck in the world with that knee replacement. I can imagine all the things going through his head right now as I've had all those thoughts in my own head now since 2003 when I was told that I needed both knees replaced. It's scary to think about all the what ifs. I hope he does great!
Sewing for babies is so much fun and because they are so tiny, things are finished so much faster. I love doing those types of things because seeing the finished product for me is the best thing in the world. If you asked my husband he'll gladly tell you that patience is not my best side. :D
That darned eating and sleeping thing just always gets in the way of our addictions ........ummmm hobbies don't they? Have fun.

Thanks for the warm welcome, it's very nice to be a part of the embroidery family here. Stitchingrandma I'll keep you updated on my husbands knee replacement progress, we are all praying that it goes well. Between now and the 22nd of this month my goal is to get a lot of embroidery projects finished and some other craft loose ends tied up.:D
Here's wishing everyone a nice productive weekend.

You may want to prepare a bunch of meals and toss them into the freezer now too. MOST men are totally helpless when they are sick and in his case, he will be so you'll be running around helping him. Fast food as unhealthy as that can be may become your friend very fast so having good meals ready to toss into the oven may not be a bad idea. ;) I hope he does well. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Hi! My name is Sandy (Sam) and I have been sewing & embroidering for a number of years. I have a very special doll that I make clothes for and of course embroider them and do heirloom sewing on them as well. I am married and we have 2 little dogs, we love to go camping and I do sewing and embroidery for things for camping as well. I love to learn new things and enjoy taking classes. With my 60th birthday coming up and my old embroidery machine ready to pack it in my darling husband got me a Bernina 730, what a dear. I love it and know I will have many more years of sewing and embroidery to enjoy using this wonderful machine. Thank you for your beautiful designs and keep up the good work. Sam

Welcome to the group here Kary. Woohoooo for retirement and for free time. You will love this site. Jami is great and her designs are wonderful. You found a great place to come visit, that's for sure.
Some hints for when you have questions - in the upper corner of your page you will see a 'search' button, click that when you are looking for something and type in what you are wanting help with. There are a LOT of great posts here and using the search feature will help you find some great helpful posts/info.
If you haven't found them yet, in the sets for sale, there are some which have free sample designs for you to download. Downloading designs here is a bit different from other sites. If you go to the homepage http://www.embroidables.com/ look in the bottom right corner and you'll see a link to click that says "Download help". That will give you the step by step on how to download and open the files.
Also, look on the message board under the headings and you'll see one named 'inspiration contests'. Inspirations Contest - Embroidables - Message Boards There is a contest that you can enter things you have made using Embroidables designs. There are great prizes for winning and Jami is super nice in giving more than just one prize in each contest and you can even win if you vote during each voting period as well. The only requirement for entering anything into each contest is that you cannot use any other designs from another digitizer and any lettering used must be from your machine only.
So, if you haven't bought any designs yet, go download some of the free ones and make something wonderful and enter that into the contest. You might win and then you'll be able to buy more designs. Each contest is open until we have 10 entries and then we all vote for the winners and a new one is opened. There is a contest thread and also another thread to discuss any of the entries so we keep the contest thread just for the entries only and they aren't lost in chatting.
Check out the fabulous prices offered each day on the "Daily Deal" link at the top of your page also. You won't find a better price on those designs.
Have lots of fun. Can't wait to see some of your fabulous creations.

Hi, I'm new to this post and excited to be here to learn! I have a Phaff Creative Vision Machine and I have recently purchased Monogram Wizard software. I am very interested in learning about my new machine and software programs. I love making beautiful personal gifts for family and friends. So far, all that new stuff is pretty intimidating! My first project is a monogrammed cashmere scarf. I am new to the world of machine embroidery and I'm having a problem changing the color/s on my Monogram Wizard Plus. I think I am following the instructions, but I'm not getting a color change to show on the screen. Help Please!?

First, welcome to Embroidables. I'm sure you will love being here because we have a great group of members here who are always willing to help one another. Lately though, they've been quiet so some tihngs aren't answered quite as fast as they were a few months ago. I'm hoping once everyone gets back on thier Fall routines that they'll be back again.
I think you're going to be fine once you learn the basics on machine embrodiery because you were brave enough for your first project to do a cashmere scarf. LOL You sound like me since one of my first projects was doing a huge embroidery project on satin and most experienced embroiderers will run from satin as well as they do from cashmere. ;)
Anyway, one hint I'll give you is the search feature on the message board. It works really well and can be found at the top of the board in the pink areas. Click that word, 'search' and you'll get a drop down box where you can then enter your search term and all areas on the board that has been mentioned will then come back for your search. I just used that myself to see if it would bring something up to help you since I do not own your program you're asking about.
Here are the results from that search:
Click here (http://www.embroidables.com/forums/search.php?searchid=41474)
This thread actually has something which could help you
Click here (http://www.embroidables.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2540&highlight=Monogram+Wizard)
Some of the other threads from that top link could very well help you too but one word of caution is to remember not to go by the thread title. Many people do not use a title that will make you think it applies to your question but somewhere in those threads on that link that software was mentioned since it came up from my search.
Good luck. I know there are a few here that have this software so maybe they'll also chime in here to help you out too.

Hi Kim,
I have a sewing machine/embroidery machine combo-brother se350.I have always down more sewing than anything else but wanted to try the embroidery. If I get good at it I may invest in just an embroidery machine. Not quite there yet. I'm still trying to figure out what kind of stabilizer works best. I'm very excited to learn though!

Hello Katie ~ Happy to see you found us. Welcome to Embroidables. You will love it here because we have a great group here and all are very happy to help each other. I don't know how familiar you are with message boards such as this one but I'll give a hint to you. At the top in the pink area you will see "Search". If you click that little white arrow next to that a box will open up so you can type whatever you are wanting to know more about. We have hundreds of threads here with a lot of great information already so chances the same question you have was already discussed is very good. If you do start a new thread to ask a question you might want to do a search while waiting for replies to your question to see if you can find what you are seeking. Or you can use search first to save time also if you want.
Have lots of fun with your new machine. You'll be hooked soon I'm sure.

Hello Katie and WELCOME.....I have to apologize in advance because I have not been on here as much as I was at one time. Since I have a new machine plus 2 other ones, I am learning (trying) the new one and at the same time trying to get ready for a craft show. The more I embroider, the more I sell or have people calling. I cannot keep up with my own 7 grandchildren's items and do things for others too! BUT I LOVE IT! You will find that embroidery just kind of "sucks" you in! You are totally addicted before you know what happened. If you have questions - Jami and Vicki do an excellent job in finding the answer. One piece of advice - when you are learning, learn with good designs and you will definitely find that here. Jami does a great job. Don't be fooled by other digitizers because quality is EVERYTHING! So many times you may think that it is you making the mistake when it is the pattern. That is why I highly recommend the designs here. Great to have you.

Welcome April! You are totally right that this is the best message board for embroidery!!! It is set up perfectly so we can ask and get answers (most of the time), to our questions AND, most importantly, FIND those discussions again later easily if we need to refer back. The search feature on the board works really well, even if you are a new member here because you can open the search box at the top of the screen and type in just one word relating to what you're looking for help with and it will bring up all previous discussions that have that word in them. Sometimes that will bring up many, many discussion threads so you might need to redo the search with more specific words but it works great if you haven't found that yet.
Congrats on being able to get another machine. I hope you can find time to sew and embroider now with all those kids. Wow. I had three small ones at one time but thanks to the ultrasounds all being read wrong, I didn't have four.(they told me the twins were actually triplets for six months of my pregnancy). I can't imagine four AND being able to find time to do things that must be done, much less find the time to sew as well. I suppose though, just like myself when mine were little, as long as you are a very organized person, you can find time to do anything you want to do.
Have fun and if you need anything just post as you have been doing already and someone will be around normally to give you some help or ideas.

Welcome to your newest hobby. First, remember you need to eat and so does your family if you have one. LOL I remember getting my machine and starting to make such fun things that I would lose track of time.
If you know how to use your embroidery machine, that's the biggest step out of the way since that's where most of us got lost right away. Next step is to learn all about stabilizers, threads and most important needles for embroidery. After you have read as much as possible and have those things figured out you should be on your way to just jump in on your own.
Of course, I do also recommend classes since you will learn all those things from your dealer and how to best use your machine all at once.
Now that you've found this message board and an awesome site to buy your designs from you also have a great tool as well. Using the search feature at the top of the message board and typing in things such as stabilizer or needles, thread etc. you are sure to find previous threads where we have asked or many answered questions someone had about some of those things which will help you quite a lot.
GOOD LUCK! AND remember, they make and sell seam rippers for a reason so just have fun and if you have to rip out something you just did wrong, so what; that's how we all learn. I can almost guarantee you that every single one of use has had to do just that at least once or had to possibly even trash an entire project because there were too many stitches to remove and start over. (That's also why they sell cheap muslin to learn on too ;) )

Hey Everyone,
I am Jessica and I am 25 years-old, I have been a craft junky since my mom got me into counted cross stitch when I was six-years-old. I had been wanting an embroidery machine since I was in middle school and one of my friends moms had one, but never could afford one. I finally bought a Brother Inovis 1250 almost a year ago, but being a student I do not have a large amount of time to spend with my machine. I have done some basic lettering on various garments and played around with a few in machine designs, but with summer here I have had a lot more time to play with my machine. I got married in January and do not have a job yet only one more semester of school to go so I do not have a lot of money to spend, but I have found a few free designs that I love, but I wish I could make them smaller.
