I also embroidered a dishtowel with one of the new Valentine designs. This is my first attempt at adding photos, so I hope this works. On the closeup you can see some gaps in my stitches. Is this due to improper stabilizer, thread, or some other reason? I live in a rural town in south Georgia and we only have what remains of the WalMart fabric department. Therefore, I can only get the very basic supplies unless I order them online. The thread I used on this design is the Coats& Clark embroidery thread, and I used a firm cut-away stabilizer. Thanks for your help!

That looks really good with the red and yellow together. I am going to have to get some of that ric rac or whatever it is called. I guess we are dishtowel crazy right now. I love dishtowels!

The kinda swirly design looks great on the checked towel, and I too like the color combination. In fact, I had thought about painting my kitchen a goldenrod sort of color and use a darkish red as the main color of accent pieces, towels, etc.

Very nice. There was a rumor going around that Target had a great towel bargain in the dollar section. There were none at my Target. I will have to go stock up.

Thanks you guys. I think I heard that rumor about the Target towels somewhere ;) , but we aren't blessed with a Target in our town. I purchased a set of these checked dihtowels at KMart. I think there were seven of them in a package for like $7. Each towel is a different color and has rickrack already on it. I took the rickrack off of some of them because the colors didn't go together really well.

We are all going to end up with a fetish for dishtowels. I already have so many in my storage closet for blanks. I like the idea that these already have the rickrack on them. That sounds like a good price, too.

Love these pictures. I might have to go to Kmart when I get off work today. Tried Target but they were still restocking from the holidays.

The embroidery looks great but that special little ric rac embellishment made the towel. So many times we forget that one little "kick" that adds the pizzazz! Great idea and thanks so much for sharing!
